The Sales Charts Thread

Recommended Posts

sales have fallen even for the wii(maybe a stock problem)

hot shots golf helped ps3 sales in japan,4 weeks of 20k+ sales.bladestorm will take over from next week.doesnt look very good for the 360 in japan, and unless lost odyssey comes up with a miracle i cant see them even coming close to outselling the first xbox.

JST LOOK AT THE 360 FIGURE!!!! :D

looks like when i brought the 360, i didnt invest in the future....... :majesty:

any one has the us & uk sales figures????

Xbox brand was never famous in Japan. 360 is the single M$ console on the chart. Their stronghold is mostly in US.

In the UK and US, the X360 trails the Wii, DS and the PS2. But its higher than the PS3.

Japan has never been kind to the Xbox. :)

july sales figure for consoles in the us ........

Month PS2 Xbox 360 PS3 Wii

Jun/2007 270,000 198,000 99,000 382,000

Jul/2007 222,000 170,000 159,000 425,000

i hate to say this but the ps3 looks like it will win the console war ultimately .....

the gap is closing ....

ps3 catching up and wii still improving on its lead!!

(These numbers may or may not be accurate. They've been pieced together from various figures and percentages on the Internet. It's probably close enough for amateur analysis and web discussion.

yes 360 is on an average 10k higher than ps3 in US weekly(after the price drop for both) wii still outsells them both combined

pal region is pretty much dead even,360 and ps3..again wii outsells both of them..same with japan.

the psp is doing pretty well considering the announced slim model is to hit next week ,expect a spike

problem for them is their big japan killer-app didnt do enuff ,their so called final fantasy killer caused only a temporary spike after that it has been down again, same with eternal sonata

Looks like DS Phat and GBA have been dropped from the chart or else they have registered no sales. Also the Xbox 360 sales were probably pushed up by the release of PGR4 which has clocked in at #25 on this week's Jap games sales chart.

SCEA responds to poor September NPD figures

From Joystiq

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/10/19/scea-r...er-npd-figures/

_________________________________________________________________________

September wasn't a very good month for Sony, especially its PS3. NPD figures show that the system came in dead last, selling 119,400 units. This is less than the PS2 (215,000), the Wii (501,000) and the Xbox 360 (527,800). Granted, Xbox 360's sales were boosted quite significantly due to the launch of the blockbuster Halo 3, with sales of the game reaching a staggering 3.3 million in its first month. Heavenly Sword, in comparison, only sold 139,000 units its first month.

SCEA responds: "According to NPD data, September 2007 was a strong month for the PlayStation brand, which showed a 13% increase in total retail dollars generated year-over-year in the US with total sales of $337 million for the month."

Sony will have to look towards the future and hope its recent price cut announcement will keep it afloat. "PS3 continues to maintain an overall increase in sales, with 119K units sold at retail for the month. Also, with the new $399 40GB PlayStation 3 SKU hitting store shelves on November 2nd, a new $499 price point for the 80GB model effective immediately, and highly anticipated titles available this holiday, such as Racthet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, the PS3 is poised for very strong performance through the holiday season and into 2008."

3.3 million v/s 0.139 million :shock3:

PS3 sales on par with 360, launches aligned

Is the PS3 really suffering as badly as it seems? Admittedly, it's getting to a slow start, but many forget that the Xbox 360 faced similar challenges during its launch. In fact, when the launches are aligned, the Xbox 360 and PS3 appear to be selling at an equivalent rate. Of course, with the immense amount of negativity surrounding the PS3 from the gaming media, will sales be hurt during this crucial holiday season? The price drop and release of games, such as Ratchet & Clank, will help Sony hopefully keep pace with its major rival.

If Sony had come out with a couple of million consoles at launch with another two million by the end of 2006, they would've been in a better situation right now. Most of 400k launch units were sold out on the same night they went on sale.
