Damn !! Football rules in Europe !!

But check out Master Chief !! Stick rollicking in the top 10 and above Orange Box !!

And did Metroid 3 just get released in Europe ? If not, its simply outstanding that it has beaten Halo 3.

OB's main game is half life 2, which has already sold steadily worldwide....i really didnt get it, when valve decided to release the same along with some expansion packs and 2 new games on PC  ! How long can u expect such a game to be a bestseller? It has had its run - i think the original hl2, sold over 4 million copies on PC alone !

Aaahhh !! Microsoft's cash churning siege machine rolls on.

I predict that M$ will pull in more money on the software sales front than either Sony or Nintendo this holiday season.

i have a feeling nintendo will do better but let's see.

Get a cuppa, we're going to be here for a while. We've got four European nations to get through this week: Britain, Germany, Spain AND Sweden. We don't want to spoil the surprises awaiting you after the jump, but as a tease, you can expect Zelda, and you can expect football. "Holiday hardware demand may outstrip supplies," Sebastian said. "We believe one of the themes from the upcoming holiday period could be hardware supply constraints, driven by ongoing strong demand for Nintendo’s Wii and a shift in Xbox 360 unit sales from 4Q into the September quarter, while Sony’s PS3 and PSP may benefit from lower price points."

Sebastian also noted that, according to Lazard's observations, the pricing of Wii and PS2 software "may be under pressure." He explained, "Our weekly analysis of pricing trends suggests that front-line PS2 pricing continues to shift to $29/$39 from $39/$49. In addition, we note a greater distribution of pricing on new and recently released Wii titles ($29/$39/$49) in contrast to fairly consistent $59 pricing for most PS3 and Xbox 360 releases, which is indicative of the more casual nature of many Wii titles."

360 sells nearly 2X as many games per console as Wii, PS3

Savvy Xbox 360 fans know that the Xbox 360 sells quite a few games, but according to this data, the Xbox 360 sells nearly twice as many games per console as the PS3 and Wii. On average, there are nearly seven games sold per Xbox 360, compared to between three and four sold for every PS3 or Wii.

* Xbox 360: hardware to software ratio: 6.59 (hardware total sold = 6.8 million; software total sold = 44.8 million)

* PlayStation 3: hardware to software ratio: 3.58 (hardware total sold = 1.9 million; software total sold = 6.8 million)

* Wii: hardware to software ratio: 3.44 (hardware total sold = 4.5 million; software total sold = 15.5 million)

These figures are for North America only. Interesting to note that the PS3 has sold as many games as the total install base of the X360 in NA. And I wonder if they are counting the bundled Wii Sports as an individual software sale for the Wii.

And you're right about Indian gamers. We are helping M$ average out its worldwide attach rates :D.

as long as we dont get our games on MB discs

^ i'm sure if i told M$ that i will buy 18 legit games @ FULL f**king PRICE, void my warranty and pay for 3yrs of XBL gold + 10,000 marketplace points - they will courier me backups themselves. think about it, any platform owner would willingly sell their souls IF all their customers were to follow my lead.
