Want Laptop for light gaming meaning, all the latest games but I can live with 1366x768 resolution and medium settings. Maximum budget is 55k.

^ Not possible in that budget, you will have to knock yourself between LOW -->MEDIUM settings.

Look for at-least a GT940M GPU in your notebook before finalising it. Here are a couple of options @flipkart.

I bought an Asus lappie that had gt630m. It could handle everything at medium settings easily. The only problem I faced was of heating, frequent crashes after 20-120min of gaming. Partial soln was to play at lowest settings to prevent max gpu usage.

^ Why not buy local, apart from the pricing factor?

It is a decent model to step into mobile gaming.

Is matching of ram in pairs needed for laptops??

mine came with 4gb of inbuilt

I can upgrade to max 16 gb and have a spare slot

So should I go for 4gb or 8gb

processor is i3 5010u no graphics card

It is recommended to keep it in pair(s), yes. Considering this is a DDR3 unit, just get another 4GB stick. Notebooks do not require a whole lot of RAM unless you are doing something intensive with it.

Also any option to increase the inbuilt shared video memory ??

I looked at bios buy couldn't find the setting

If you do not have an inbuilt iGP, maybe the GPU chipset has its own separate set of V-RAM to go along with it.

^ It is pretty okay, not exactly a value purchase agreed but then we do not have any competition at that price-point, so make hay while the sun shines. =]

today had a short demo of iball's new mini laptop - the 'compbook'. nice little laptop. comes in 2 sizes - 11.6" & 14". rest specs same - http://www.amazon.in/iBall-Excelance-CompBook-11-6-inch-Integrated/dp/B01FHE9L7Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463253141&sr=8-1&keywords=iball+compbook

touchpad seemed good - responsive & not finicky. display also pleasant (screen reso 1366x768). will be buying one (11.6") this Monday for parents for casual use.

^ DELL can get the components of the individual SKU disassembled into India separately and put them together locally, thereby save on tax or they have a single SKU pricing worldwide which they have implemented to prevent purchase of the SKU internationally and loss of revenue.

Go into the PC, right click on a partition > Properties > Tools > Error checking.

How did you fix the issue last time?

Go for the newer Core i3, should serve you fine.

Any particular reason for sticking with HP only?
