'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Is Now The Biggest Reboot Ever

Quote

Not only will it leapfrog past Wonder Woman’s over/under $815 million cume on the global charts (thus becoming the biggest non-sequel/origin story superhero movie of all time), but it is already now the biggest worldwide gross for a straight reboot ever. With around $770m worldwide as of today, it has already displaced The Amazing Spider-Man ($757 million) after long ago passing the likes of Casino Royale ($599m), Man of Steel ($668m) and Star Trek ($385m).

Spider-Man: Homecoming is now the biggest-grossing straight reboot.

Now give Fantastic Four to MCU!

Just got back from watching IT. One of the best horror movies I have watched in recent times. 2 hours 30 mins and all throughout the story kept me on the edge of my seat. Proper gripping and heart clenching stuff. Loved it.

To come clean, never have I ever yelled at a jump scare in a theater, but there is one particular scene in the movie where I am sure majority of the theater had their popcorn flying !

Are the profanities completely uncensored as mentioned a few pages back?

Nope. I went for IMAX 2D and there were scenes with certain dialogues cut out and also few objects poorly blurred out. To recollect properly, maybe 3/4 scenes most of which take place in a pharmacy.

Great, so much for our censor board allowing unedited content.

Ah i watched in normal 2d but i don't think it requires an imax viewing. People who watched in imax can tell better though.

Saw IT today.

Pretty good movie. Not really scary when you are sitting in a near full theatre.

But very well made movie. Good acting by the kids. Beautiful cinematography.

I hope chapter 2 comes out soon.

I'll give it an 8/10.

Mild Spoilers below.

Also don't believe that girl. She said its not true(the rumors about her). But its all true. She's definitely done a lot of guys even though she denied it.

Tried watching Her. Too boring. Couldn't go past 40 minutes.

Its a great movie. How did u get bored.

Its going to be our fate in the future. Looking forward to when i can buy the software.

Saw IT. Liked it a fair bit but didnt exactly love it. It feels like its just like 10-15 jump scare vignettes tied together with the ending. Granted some of the jump scares are really fantastic but that is all there is to it, it never feels like the movie has any creeping dread that I loved about the book. Mostly because its running from one set piece scare to the other with no downtime. Also thought Mike, Pennywise and the town itself never really got the time and attention that they deserved. I mean Pennnywise is in almost every scene yet we get no information about it except that it feeds on fear. Mike might as well be not in the movie, he feels so tacked on. And they glossed over a lot of stuff that made the town a great setting.

But honestly its hard to fix those complaints in a movie format, so I guess they did the best they could. The film was long enough as it is. I just feel like this book (like The Dark Tower) would have worked a lot better as a 10 part TV series. Hopefully there is a directors cut where characters get fleshed out a little more. Would love like a 3, 3-1/2 hour long DC of this.

On the plus side, the rest of the kid cast was fantastic. Their chemistry together was great as well. Whoever plays the clown did a really solid job.

EDIT Film was uncut here, all swearing and gore left in. With a really weird bit of censorship though. They blurred out something in the chemist shop where Bev and the guys meet up. I have no idea what it was. Just a blurry big square in the middle of the screen. Porno mag stand? Cigarette stand? Its been bugging me a lot. Anyone know what it was?

I agree they didn't capture Derry well. After all Derry itself is such an integral part of the book. It was no where close to the dread of the book. And Penny-wise is a very watered down version but still the movie was the best King adaptation so far(haven't seen the TV IT yet).

And im leaning towards it was a box of cigarettes that was blurred. Maybe camels or lucky strikes?

Anyway I liked the movie for what it got right. The kids were really close to what I imagined. Except for course for Mike. What was the point of Mike at all since his role has been butchered to point of irrelevance. Loved Eddie though.

Saw IT as well. Movie was quite good. Not much scares (except for a couple of jump scares), but the cast was fantastic. The kids acting was really nice. If you loved Stranger Things, you will like this movie as well. They managed to keep the vibe similar to Stranger Things (80s vibe), and the main kid from  Stranger Things is also acting in this movie (Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler - Stranger Things; Ritchie Tozier - IT). The chemistry between the cast is also nice. As a bonus, there is no drama (as there was in Stranger Things), and the show is about all the kids and the supernatural (i.e. the clown and CG effects).

For those torn between normal viewing and IMAX, I would recommend Imax. I watched it in Imax 2d. The Picture quality is phenomenal and all of the outdoor shots look really awesome.

Overall, a very good movie. Definitely worth a one time watch. Imax recommended for Picture Quality alone, which was amazing. But the movie itself will not go in the "Legendary Movies" or even "Exceptional Movies" category
