rad2689
United need Sneijder. Whenever he starts in a derby his team never loses. Maybe then we'll start winning the derbies again.

armaan
also , a good read : Buying the Title ? But this article dose not mention the fact we were bringing through our youth players at that time(giggs,Scholes, becks, butt and the Nevill brothers) and that all big teams spend money but they don't buy entire new squad like city. And that we bought rio, veron n Rooney fr 30+mil is cause we earned that money. N we have the most expensive keeper and expensive teenager is because of teams like city who have inflated the transfer market. armaan
: And if we also bought are way to success why haven't city won a title in the past 44yrs. We won a CL and 5 league titles with Sir Matt Bubsy that time we were not spending big were we? N when this guy says fergi spent 6.7mil when we won the league in 93 that time city also had spent 6.3mil. The article was written to show that united are as much built by money as are city, no point bringing up youth players argument. Money is a fact in football and its really hypocritical of united fans to jeer city for using money when they themselves have done the same when they were the top team in terms of finances. First of all, yes we have made big money signings in past 25 years. But how many of them?? Veron, Rooney, Rio. If any other then please tell me but never at any time have we bought an entire squad like City have and that too at such ridiculous prices. second of all, why shouldn't we include the Class of 92 in there?? They've been responsible for most of the success in Fergie's time. Finally, you should be the last person to say all this when everyone here knows that you hate United more than you love Chelsea. rad2689
berba 30 million nistelrooy 19 million (record signing fee in 2001) Except for Berba and slightly Rooney none of those were bought above their value. You can even add Cantona to the big money signings. 6-7 big money signings in 25 years. Compare that to 8-9 signings each above 20 million in 2-3 years. Were Barry, Milner, Nasri, Balotelli worth those amounts??? And what about those messed up wage bills??? And everything we spent has come from our income. We have always had sold out stadiums even in our leanest times. We didn't have a sugar-daddy swoop in to our aid. The Wolfy among us
Isn't it just your misfortune that ManU is not getting sold to wealthy owners? Would they hold back spending even if they had money to splash?
Keano
well in that case, manchester uinted has also paid around 17 million each for anderson, hargreaves, nani and carrick and all these players were signed in 2006-2007. Carrick, Nani and Hargreaves were worth the amount we paid. I dont expect you to be watching United matches, but Carrick has been top class in many seasons since he signed. Nani has been exceptional and has always been in the top of the charts for assists. Hargreaves(although his presence in the 07-08 campaign was immense, with vital perfromances against Arsenal and in UCL KO phase) case is a sad one, if not for the injury, him along with Fletchinho(suspended for the final for a 100% legit tackle on Fabregas) would've made the diff against the Barca in 08-09
