prakhar
In today's (15th June 2011) edition of Economic Times, Delhi Edition, there was an article for The Best Gadget Deals Online Gadget prices are so volatile — and luckily for consumers, there’s an inevitable downward trend when it comes to gadgets that are a few months old. Since the online store reacts to price changes much faster than the physical store, you can take advantage of this too says Karan Bajaj as he puts together a list of the best places to buy from. BindassBargain BindaasBargain brings up some interesting gadget deals and accessories — a new deal every day. Their mantra is simple — to run a deal for 24 hours, starting at 10am every day. They usually have limited numbers of each item on offer, indicated by a progress bar. In case of two deals on any day, one of them becomes the ‘side-deal’ — which can be anything ranging from a phone to a showpiece. They also have a suggestion box where you can suggest what you would like to see at discounted prices. Payment is offered via credit/debit cards, net banking and even cash on delivery. The site also has a policy for defective products or cancelled orders — in case of an anomaly, the paid amount is transferred back to you within a few days. DailydealBazaar Dailydealbazaar offers a deal of the week and a deal of the day (refreshed daily at 10am). They usually have lots of accessories, phones, car accessories, toys and other electronics. Deal hunters will like that they have several items for which the buyer only pays for shipping and nothing else. Payments are accepted in Indian Rupees or US Dollars via credit/debit cards, ITZ cash cards and net banking. A return policy is specified for damaged goods, but the return shipping costs have to be paid by the buyer. Futurebazaar Futurebazaar has its own e-zone section for gadgets that showcases mobile phones, computers, camera, MP3 players etc. It offers discounts on most available products, which usually turns out to be a few hundred rupees cheaper than the market price. They have an offer of the day as well as a hot deals section featuring a mix of products selling at discounted prices. The site accepts payments via debit/credit cards, net banking, cheques, demand drafts, cash on delivery and also accepts payments deposited at Easybill outlets and ICICI bank branches. They have a 7-day delivery guarantee with free shipping and accept returns within 15 days if the product is not to your liking or is damaged/defective. Homeshop18 Dealing in a wide variety of products, Homeshop18 offers various gadgets at discounted prices. Although at times the prices are equivalent to the prevailing price in market, the site has a large variety of devices and offers payment facilities such as cash on delivery, cash before delivery, net banking, credit/debit cards, ITZ cash cards and also interest free EMI option from various banks. They offer a 15 daymoney-back guarantee if the product does not meet your expectations (money-back includes shipping charges). Note that the money-back offer does not apply to products sold under special promotions. Khojguru Khojguru is an accumulator of offerings by various daily deal websites. It updates daily with various discounts and deals available for electronics, beauty, travel, books and so on. The main page shows you the top discounts running across categories with sections to view the latest discounts, featured discount coupons and the deal of the day (some deals even offer 50% off). The site uses a coupon system and does not require any amount to be transferred online. It gives you a coupon that has to be shown at the outlet to avail the discount. The site does not sell anything directly, but it’s a great way to keep a track of various deals. Letsbuy Letsbuy is one of the hottest online sites for gadgets. It has a large range of products across categories and offers discounts on almost every item it sells. This is the place you need to go if you’re an early adopter because Letsbuy is usually one of the first online stores to list the hottest new smartphone or tablet. They offer free home delivery across India with 100% transit insurance. Payment can be made via credit/debit cards, net banking, cheque/DD as well as cash on delivery. The cash on delivery option is limited to an order of 50,000 or less. ynx-india Lynx India is an online store for computer enthusiasts. The site has products ranging from individual computer components to high-end Apple products and audio gear. The site does not directly show you the discounts on offer, but a quick comparison with market prices will put you in the know! Lynx offers a lot of products that are not available in India (they can get you anything from Amazon, for example), they also have a deal of the day, deal of the week and deal of the month section. Payments are accepted via credit/debit cards, direct account transfers or via DD/cheque/money order. Naaptol Naaptol used to be a product comparison site but has now added the functionality of providing prices as well. Naaptol’s unique proposition is that it offers prices offered by various online stores for the same product. As a buyer, you can then choose to make the purchase from the site that offers the lowest price. It has various new and old products available and although it covers various categories, a large section is devoted to electronics alone. INTERNATIONAL DEALS eBay Global easy buy Buying anything from eBay Global is easy with Global Easy Buy. Thinkgeek Here, you’ll find a fantastic selection of quirky office and home gadgets, gags and collectibles, culled from around the world.
