Halo 4

343 Industries' Frank O'Connor has suggested that Halo 4 may (emphasis on the "may") approach first-person movement in a manner similar to Splash Damage's Brink, in which players could wall-jump and slide through gaps parkour-style.

Speaking to OXM at a preview event, O'Connor discussed how the new Halo's revamped audio would better express the physicality of Master Chief's legendary MJOLNIR armour, with a range of sound effects to convey its bulk and power.

Asked whether Halo 4 might follow in Brink's slipshod footsteps, establishing a more tangible relation between character and environment, O'Connor offered: "It's actually a combination of those things. Think about Incredible Hulk-like mass and... I'm trying to think of a mid-range, agile superhero to finish my metaphor.

"He's a very massy character, but he's also very dynamic, and flexible, and athletic and can parkour with the best of them. But that's not going to be how we explore that physicality necessarily.

"There's a lot of different ways to approach how Chief interacts with the environment. He's still going to do all the usual things, jumping while shooting for instance, but there are some clues about some of the things you'll see in the [Microsoft Spring Showcase trailer].

"It's one of the ways we want to keep surprising people throughout the series and the game."

We somehow doubt Master Chief will be wall-running in Halo 4, but a fluid animation suite coupled with denser environment interaction would compliment the game's more organic story direction.

Chill.. OXM is just speculating about something that has no chance of happening..

it wont be like the free-flow movement like brink but more like crysis going by frankies response, in fact the first vidoc even has a clip of the chief forcing open a door and GI recently in their summary of the demo said that the game has many cinematic sequences that are semi player controlled..

Halo franchise Development Director Frank O'Connor has confirmed that gamers won't be fighting FLOOD in Halo 4. The confirmation was made by Frank O'Connor on Halo Waypoint forums.

Frank O'Connor was quizzed, "Do you think the Flood may return as the Precursors’ servants? I’m guessing this with the hints in Primordium. What do you think?"

To this Frankie simply replied, "You won’t be fighting Flood in Halo 4."

Oh happy days!

Later today, or more likely tonight, there is going to be some big news announced about the upcoming Halo 4.

According to Alison Stroll (senior producer for 343 Industries) and Major Nelson (Xbox 360 spokesperson) @TeamCoco is going to be making a huge announcement about Halo 4 in the next 24 hours.

Team Coco would be the twitter handle behind the phenomenally popular TV host Conan O'Brien which would make this the third big Microsoft gaming announcement to debut on popular late night talk show after Kinect and Gears of War.

According to TheVerge who have spoken to another one of those infamous anonymous insiders, the big announcement today is that the game will be released on the 6th of November to ensure a pre-Black Friday release.

Which could make for an all out FPS war as Black Ops 2 is also rumoured to be releasing on that exact day. Could Halo 4 and Block Ops 2 really get released on the same day?

If so which one do you think would walk away with the title? Obviously Black Ops has the advantage of multiple platforms but then again Halo is incredibly popular in the States which could sway a lot of the larger media to push for it instead.

LOL there is no way they are going head to head with CoD. It will chew up Halo and spit it out. If they do announce it for that date, expect a swift delay announcement once CoD confirms its date.
