lastAvenger
Edge rates are still crazy. Look at a plan by Vodafone on top of that the companies don't even subsidize the phone like US operators do. I don't mind being in contract if my handset costs me cheaper by 50% atleast
Keyofx
Guys, where can I find softwares for the Nokia 5800? Need a locking software (folders, messages, etc) amongst others. HERE Although the OS is brand-spanking-new so there isn't much to get as of now.
Chaztin
wow!I should have shared this with you guys. When I was using HTC Diamond, I was using this application called DashWire. Basically every night i used to sync it. Consider it something like MobileMe for iPhone but this one is free and works quite well. http://dashwire.com/ Check it out Thx for that link

lastAvenger
The only sad part is Sprint which means CDMA initially. Will need to wait for the GSM/3G

Keyofx
Looks nice (and very iphone-ish). Any videos of the OS running? Everything looks good on paper/promo videos until it actually comes out. Example: Every phone ever made (except the iphone).

Death Stryke
I heard there werent any videos or anything. Lot of people were confused the same way as you are whereas infact, they have preloaded 220 songs only.

My weight is 102 kgs
Video Center-MyVideos-All Videos - When i go to the video center, It not only displays all the videos in my memory card but also the mp3 files present.(videos and mp3 were pre-loaded) So now it shows 217 videos, when i click on All Videos, it takes 30 seconds to update the list(have thumbnails on). Have only 10 videos, rest all mp3. Shouldnt only the vidoes be shown here? Why are the mp3 displayed when i cant play them anyway or launch them using the right app automatically. Is there some setting iam missing here? Ok so now i play a video, when I click back, it again takes 30 seconds to display the list.(irritating that i have to wait 30 secs everytime) Now i scrolled down where no videos thumbnails were displayed, and clicked a mp3, it displays "invalid clip operation canceled" duh .. it cant play mp3, takes 30 seconds to update the list, now i scroll up and i cant see the thumbnails for the videos now. If you now slide the keylock to lock and then unlock, the thumbnails appear. Dont mind the thumbnails disappearing but if i could get the mp3 of the list would be great. I searched for the settings everywhere, but couldnt find any.. Hope to get a solution here..
Death Stryke
^Bro, check out the Nokia 5800 Express music community in orkut. That's where I saw the issue. Someone said that its actually 220 songs only. When you delete the song, some corresponding video also gets deleted. I'm really not sure exactly what it is. Do check out the help and problem threads there if you can
lastAvenger
Why does every "iPhone killer" have to clone the iPhone's UI ? At least the Omnia's UI was unique. Omnia's interface is nothing really new. Basically its just their widget thingy which XDA-Dev was nice enough to port to HTC devices. Atleast HTC on the other hand made each and every interface new on their TF3D and TF2D compared to Samsung which just made one or two new interfaces but the rest was the default WinMo 6.1 The Pinch and flick thing is not a rip. Even Microsoft's Windows 7 will do this on the multi-touch enabled laptops or MID's etc. Dark Ali Akbar - I am not surprised. Like i said earlier, Nokia's Symbian OS is very poor when you compare it with other OS'es. They should have worked harder and with more innovation on their OS. The OS and its applications greatly lack. oh and http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/there-w...-umts-palm-pre/ good news for fellows looking to buy a Palm device and it seems their stock has gone up by 35% lol after announcing Pre Edited January 9, 2009 by lastAvenger
Fire Wolf
Guys, buying unlocked phones (like iPhone or Blackberry) is safe from Amazon, right? Otherwise does anyone know of a reliable site that sells unlocked phones in the USA?

If you pick an iPhone and if its locked, you won't get warranty unless you send it back from the country where you got it from. Warranty is needed because of the battery thingy since its non-replaceable. I dunno if BB provides worldwide warranty or not though : http://eu.blackberry.com/eng/legal/handheld_warranty.jsp >> you can read here also for those of you who wanna check out the screenshots of palm pre http://www.palm.com/us/products/phones/pre...ex.html#gallery I am so picking this phone once it comes out on GSM/3G network Edited January 9, 2009 by lastAvenger

You mean the warranty won't be there if it's unlocked right?
