HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age Announce Trailer:

http://youtu.be/Xt1n5ZkZReQ

Brace yourself for a spine-chilling new multiplayer experience on PC and consoles as Crytek ventures into the shadows in "HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age".

An all-new IP, HUNT is a third-person action game where up to four players band together to fend off an onslaught of bloodthirsty creatures and track down breathtaking bosses. Featuring intense co-op gameplay, HUNT is the debut title from Crytek USA Corp., and will be published by Crytek as part of their growing Games-as-a-Service range. Players won't have to wait long to take a closer look at HUNT in action, with the game going on show at this year's E3 expo from June 10-12.

Set in the late 1800s, HUNT depicts a world where so-called myths and folklore actually point to the terrifying truth about evil lurking just beyond the fringes of day-to-day life. Players act as hunters willing to take up arms and risk their necks by venturing into the deadliest of territories and facing the hideous creatures that have overrun them.

Adding to the thrill of the hunt is a special content generation system that ensures players never encounter exactly the same environment or set of enemies twice. As the surprises come thick and fast, the terror of knowing that one of the game's grueling boss battles could be just around the corner will keep everyone's pulses pounding. Defeating bosses will require close collaboration between hunters as they attempt to figure out and take down some truly terrifying monsters.

HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age is scheduled to enter Closed Beta testing on PC later this year, and players can sign up for a chance to experience the game first athttp://www.huntthegame.com

Crysis creator Crytek has announced Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, a co-op action game from the people who made Darksiders.

Hunt, due out on PC and undisclosed consoles, is a third-person action game set in the late 1800s in which up to four players get together to kill horrible creatures.

It's the first game from Crytek USA Corp., the studio that formed from the ashes of Darksiders maker Vigil, which went down after publisher THQ went bust.

In Hunt players act as hunters who fight creatures from myth and folklore. There's a content generation system that Crytek said "ensures players never encounter exactly the same environment or set of enemies twice".

"As the surprises come thick and fast, the terror of knowing that one of the game's grueling boss battles could be just around the corner will keep everyone's pulses pounding," reads the official blurb.

"Defeating bosses will require close collaboration between hunters as they attempt to figure out and take down some truly terrifying monsters."

A closed beta will start soon too on PC

Looks like f2p or left for dead clone :/

CRYTEK still around. L8t9plU.png

So this was the game that PC Gamer was talking a lot recently.

Hunt: Showdown is just incredible

Crytek's multiplayer survival game is reimagined with a gripping new vision. There's no shortage of survival games, but Hunt: Showdown feels more like multiplayer Stalker-meets-Resident Evil.

There's no shortage of survival games on Steam, but Hunt: Showdown feels more like multiplayer Stalker-meets-Resident Evil that just happens to feature permadeath than something like DayZ. I can't wait to play it for myself and see if that delicate balance between risk and reward is really as engrossing as it appears to be. At this time Crytek is unwilling to talk release date, but told us that it will invite players in to test the game before release—it's unclear whether that means Early Access or a closed beta.

With more multiplayer survival games branching into horror territory, Hunt: Showdown could easily get lost in all the noise. I hope that doesn't happen because it feels like the one PvP survival horror game that could actually deliver.

Why Hunt: Showdown, Crytek’s gothic survival shooter, was our favorite game of E3

  • More than just another survival game, there’s a lot of reasons we’re so excited for Hunt: Showdown.
  • The horror in Hunt is deliberately understated to stay as realistic as possible.
  • At any given time you can’t truly be sure how many opponents are left prowling the map.
  • The thrill of winning is great and all, but really it’s the fear of losing that shakes me to my core.
  • It’s the kind of focused survival game that could enter into an open beta, get the player feedback it needs to become great, and launch months later.

While it is nice to see CRYTEK still hanging around, but they should really drop F2P and online (shooter/MOBA) model.

After Warface, I'm surprised they are still making F2P/online games. Just go back to making CRYSIS like games.

No funding plus it is very difficult to make a game like the original CRYSIS. They will have to push the boundaries of the genre again like they did with FarCry and original CRYSIS.

Check your mails for a closed alpha key.

The game has a lot of potentials to become the next big thing. However, it is far from finished. It looks fantastic while running like total crap.

The gameplay is simple, engaging and fun. Blend of good PvE with PvP (currently NA and EU region servers only available). The choices of guns are excellent. Nothing pure automatic.

The world design is very good with a lot of different ways to approach your mission. Go stealth or loud, it's up to you. The PvP is unavoidable if you want to do something on a mission other than running around killing monsters for XP.

The game also has nice customization and unlockables and upgrades. Two types of progression systems.

Hunter-based levelling grants points which can be spent on increasing the hunter's HP or buying additional traits. However, it is lost when the hunter dies.

The second one is a standard progression (Bloodline) which is account based and pretty much system of unlockables for your hunters.

Nothing too complex but good enough. It also has a good learning curve to keep you busy for hours and still learn new things. It does fall on a slightly hardcore side which can put off many casuals after few rounds.

Overall, very nice but yeah, needs a lot of work. Given it's in early access, they are doing quite well. Good to see CRYTEK back. QpHe3B0.png
