Fe was good. Just needs some smoother animations IMO! Interested in that and ME:A. :good:

Like every year, whether FIFA is good or not, will be decided only when the demo is out or by trying the game when some friend buys it. Didn't know Peter Moore is a Liverpool fan. Those shots at Mourinho. Lol!

Also, that's a lot of Star Wars games. Watching that video alone gave me franchise fatigue.

No update from Criterion. Again! Was looking forward to something from them.

Also, lol @EA for switching to London for showcasing the NFL game.

Criterion are working as a support studio on the next battlefront game along with dice and motive.

Oh man. Thats just sad.

They are one of my favourite studios. EA ruined em making em work on NFS

That's bad. :( So, their multi-vehicle thingy game has been cancelled? :(

Pretty much. 2 years since the reveal and no news after that.

The reveal also had only concept arts. Guess they never went into full production

Umm, no, not exactly. After Paradise, Criterion worked on Hot Pursuit which was a big hit. Later, EA handed them Need for Speed franchise and they continued to work on NFS.

Both Most Wanted and Rivals were well received by the critics and won quite number of awards including the best racing game award.

You, see, it's not the studio or publisher or series, it's the genre that is fading. No matter how good racing game is, it still doesn't sell enough for publishers. Despite taking a year off, adding ton of customization, real-life visuals, the new Need for Speed didn't do well. They are taking another year off now. It's not because they can't make yearly games, it's to minimize the loss. You see, even such huge and well loved franchise is not selling anymore, then why would anyone risk?

Consoles have their branded racing games to full fill their closed audience. Anything outside that doesn't work. Despite how great Driveclub was, the Evolution Studios was shut down by SONY.

Even if EA allows Criterion to make new Burnout game, it won't sell enough and eventually the studio will be disbanded.

Sooner or later we won't even see Need for Speed games. Other racing series like GRID, Driver, Test Drive, GT, Race, FlatOut, etc, all disappeared. Even the newcomers like Split/Second, Blur, who tried something different didn't bother to work on another game.

Sad truth but racing genre is dying, and no one wants to waste money on it anymore. th9wJoz.gif
