You were skeptical about gow also. Didn't show up after reviews

This will be the dark horse. Its ticking everything that requires in this type of game. E3 it is then.

I would love to be wrong.

And that exactly is the problem. Its ticking all the ubisoft open world game template checklist. Lets wait and watch though, bend are an extremely small studio and this is their first home console game in decades. They need the support that ready of dawn didnt get ( or maybe they got it and blew their chance)

Same here but I'll be happy to be surprised. My go to standard for zombie games is Dying Light.

Thats the gold standard really.

The E3 demo was interesting. Kind curious to see how it turns out.

Release window is now Early 2019.

The title will run at 30 frames-per-second and will support the PS4 Pro by rendering at 4K checkerboard. The campaign will take over 30 hours to finish, but you’ll be able to keep playing once you’re done. And you won’t be able to adopt a dog or attach a side-car to your motorbike.

The golden path is going to take you about 30 hours, but it’s going to take you a lot longer than that because things are going to happen to you along the way depending on how careful you are and how much you pay attention,

"The game itself is already pretty hard," states director Jeff Ross. "It's not very good when it's easy. It's a way more exciting game [when it's hard], it's a lot of fun -- and it kinda speaks to the fantasy of the apocalypse by being a challenge," Ross continues. "We give too much away for free by having an easy mode."

Truly open-world version of The Last of Us is how I can describe it, minus the great narrative (from what I've seen so far).

So yeah, kinda generic looking.

BTW, I loved the lighting when Deacon shot the zombies at night. Every gunshot lit up the area for a second. Looked good.

Otherwise, strictly okay. Will pass on this, mostly. Don't like the 'zombie/undead' genre anyway.

Open world with pseudo RPG elements and ZOMBIES!!! Kill zombies -> earn XP -> level up -> unlock...

Generic and boring. The blood and world awful. Needs a lot of polishing.

  • The word “zombie” never appears in the game (they are called “freakers”)
  • Freaker bear is both a boss fight and a general enemy
  • Garvin is sick of The Last of Us comparisons
  • Only similarity to TLOU is that it is a third-person action-adventure game where you are killing “creatures that aren’t zombies”
  • Deacon was the name of Garvin’s pet, St. John was a street he grew up on
  • We will care about Deacon, he’s a good and funny guy
  • Deacon is the only playable character
  • Deacon can swim, but doesn’t in the game for narrative reasons
  • No outfit customization
  • In certain situations, Deacons hat will rotate from brim backwards to brim forwards
  • Game is approximately 30 hours long on the “golden path”
  • Better muffler on the motorcycle gives noise suppression for better stealth
  • Deacons bike can and will break down
  • His tires cannot pop (either deflate or pop-a-wheelie)
  • You get points for doing stunts
  • You can lose the motorcycle and will have to go find it
  • You can upgrade the motorcycle’s paint job, exhaust, speed boost, handling
  • There will be motorcycle chases
  • There will be no sidecar for the motorcycle
  • Days Gone has fast travel
  • Will run at 30 frames per second, even with PS4 Pro enhancements (checkerboard 4K)
  • Lots of collectibles
  • There will be different weather patterns in the game
  • There is “sort of” a photo mode (Garvin says it’s not in yet)
  • No multiplayer
  • Stats are tracked, like how many freakers you’ve killed
  • You can keep playing the game after you finish
  • Uses the touchpad for the menus in a variety of ways
  • Lots of “punny” and “jokey” trophies
  • This game will be tough
  • You cannot do a zero-kill playthrough
  • Currency in the game is “credits”
  • There are massive metropolitan areas in the game
  • There are playable flashbacks throughout the game
  • You build up encampments as bases throughout the game
  • You can communicate with home base while on your bike
  • There are no rumors of a place free from infection
  • Minnesota is underwater
  • This is a global epidemic
  • You will learn the origin of the infection
  • The world is not salvageable
  • The game is broken up into chapters
  • You can “kind of” choose allegiances
  • The final boss is human
  • There are no kids in the game
  • The game will not have a big showing at E3
  • Days Gone release date is early 2019

Is it just me or does that look uninteresting AF?

Everyone who isn't PS fanboy knows this game is shaping up generic zombie open world crapola. Nothing interesting about it.

However, it's not releasing for a while. So maybe some improvements; although doubt anything will be changed.
