A tonne of improvements and content over the years have been added. Easily the best MMO at the moment and will continue to be till Blizzard comes out with new Warcraft or something. But, yeah, it's really good game. The hate is there because it's not next SKYRIM but people don't get that it's not made by the same team. If you are into MMO, I'd highly recommend it.
