It's a frustrating experience and can evoke violent thoughts This thread is to talk about your experience and vent your frustration. It's not about calling out the person, but only to share what you listed and what kind of offer you got. The mods can decide whether to create a "Lowballers List", similar to the unethical members list and black list. I'm also hoping this thread has the side effect of stopping lowballers, because if multiple people talk about their experiences the lowballers can eventually be pinpointed indirectly from the patterns of their offers and their replies. If you talk about an incident that happened on IVG please specify that in your post. I'll go first. So I get lowballed A LOT on OLX and Quikr. Not yet on IVG so I guess the crowd is decent here At first I used to be furious but now I've got used to it and, believe it or not, even found a way to deal with it positively! I've started giving funny one-liners that shuts up the other person real quick. Example 1: Listed a complete in box Gameboy Advance SP for Rs. 5000 with a bunch of games Lowballer: Hi, I can pay 1000 Me: Ok. And who will pay the remaining amount? Lowballer: Haha Example 2: Listed an almost new Wii U for Rs. 22000 Lowballer: 6000 Me: Ok Lowballer: So you will sell it for 6000? Me: Yes Lowballer: Great! Can you reduce the price in the ad to 6000 on Quikr? I will buy it right now Me: Sure. I will reduce the price in your dreams Lowballer: ............ This is actually fun. Me: so you want a new game for a outdated game. Alien: destiny limited edition costs more than HZD. Me: you do know that destiny 2 will be released soon and beta is going on. Alien: you don't know sh*t about gaming. Me: OK and I blocked him. This is one of the many incidents happened on olx. If you think people on IVG don't lowball then you wrong. I have gotten some ridiculous offers for my games. One dude gave me complete story how he gets controller for a certain price from a certain place. So I should offer lower price than that. Next day he increases his offer by 100rs. I say no. He then says he will rather buy from amazon cause he doesn't want to lose warranty for 500 bucks. After few days he quoted my original offer. Guy tested it and I explained he would need to replace the rear rim because it was bent and riding it was like a horse with the constant wobbling. 2 days later I get a call. Me : hey Buyer : dude the rims need to be replaced and it will cost me 1100 bucks per wheel. Me : and? We agreed you'd change the rim yourself. I offered to get it done but you said you'd do it right? Besides it was only one rim. The rear one. Buyer : yeah but I didn't know it would be so expensive. Me : hey that's not my problem. Anyway you have the bike. What do you want from me? Buyer : how about you pay for the rim. Me : how about you take your money and give me the bike back? I don't want to deal with this. Either you change the rim yourself or just give me the bike back. Buyer : this is uncool dude. I would have never dealt with you if I knew this was the case. Me : look man I don't know what you want from me. I'm offering to take the bike back and give you your money back. I'm not paying for new rims. One of which you bent yourself. Buyer : also I filled the tank now. Me : bro I gave it to you with an almost full tank. I didn't charge you for it either. Just give me the bike and I'll give you your money. Besides the RTO transfer hasn't been done so no issues there. Buyer : this is wrong dude. Me : you test rode it. Agreed to the terms. Agreed the rear rim needs changing. Why are you calling me up now? Final I'm not paying for rims. Either you drop off the bike and take your money or hang up but stop being petty. He hung up.
