Also Nero has his own arm in DMC4 just demonized but not mechanical. Didn't Itsuno say it was set "A long time after DMC4", or "several years after 4", not "a direct sequel to 4"?This does not exclude it from being after DMC2. He says direct sequel and several years after DMC4. That also means it sets up after DMC1, 2 and

DMC 2 end has Dante trapped in the underworld, riding the motorbike all around. And Dante and Nero being older can also be explained. So actually, it is a sequel to DMC 4 and DMC series, but it's a true sequel that shows events after 2 as well.
playstationdude
Don't care when it takes place, as long as Uncle Dante gets a Botox in the game.
Heaven Angel
Famitsu : - Full development started right after DMC4SE. - The team set a goal for 4K/60 and as much realistic presentation as possible without being too uncanny. - Facial and costume scanning - Everything is rendered in real-time, no CG footage - The team wanted to reveal it last year, but they decided to do it so along with RE2 Remake at this E3. - The game really important for the team as they aim for the "highest peak action game before the end of this Heisei period". - They treat "V" character's reveal as an easter egg for now, new elements will be teased with each promotion. - Upgradable Devil Breaker arm with "cartridges" to be found around stages (missions are back?), shop is used to buy upgrades. - Nico is human "girl in the family of a gun-maker"

He has human blood too, so his aging would work accordingly. Also, we don't know how much he has aged or if that split second image made him look older than we are actually categorizing him. His hair was always in all the games, just in this one he has facial hair. Probably have to wait and get a clear image. Either way, as long as he retains the same attitude as DMC3 & 4 and Reuben Langdon voices him, that's all we need. Its subtle trolling bro , Capcom is trying to say people who still find Dante cool are old people trying to act like kids Edited June 14, 2018 by Shadoken

It's never been specifically listed anywhere that Nephilim's are meant to be immortals. Dante can withstand (and heal) all the traditional human weaponry; that's been established. However, no proof that he can't be killed or mortally wounded by other beings/objects.
CarbonCore
By immortal I mean he doesn't age. Of course he can be killed, otherwise how will we have a game? 9 hours ago, Shadoken said: Dantes faced based on this guy. https://www.instagram.com/cowieadam/?hl=en

Shadoken
Lol didn't take too long for the DmC fans to start whining. Game "Journalism" at its finest. https://www.resetera.com/threads/ign-devil-may-cry-5-and-crackdown-3-are-suffering-from-a-similar-identity-crisis.49398/ I remember in the old thread for DmC tons of people who din care about the franchise started bashing DMC fans for not accepting change. I wonder how many of those peeps ended up buying DmC ? Since its the worst selling in the franchise. Someone necro bump that thread , time to name and shame .... jk. Also remember that time NT was trying to show Dante was an outdated design by being homophobic ? I wonder how the media would react to their presentation now. Also IGN didn't nominate DMC5 for any award at E3 , incoming salt Edited June 15, 2018 by Shadoken
Shadoken
Lmao I didn't know there were articles calling people Losers for wanting 60fps over 30fps ?. LMAO some of these have aged terribly. DmC sure was a weird time. I hope DMC5 lives up to the legacy.

CarbonCore
How is it identity crisis if it is going back to its root? Did they really think they'll base the game on the biggest flop in the entire franchise?
