MightySkate
@MT: True. And that's the reason i stayed away from the Media Center. With the right codec Tversity can transcode most of the widely available codecs.

With the right codec Tversity can transcode most of the widely available codecs. Yeah, but TVersity causes quality degradation. It cant be helped since its bound to happen in the transcoding process. Thats why I have hooked up my LCD TV to my PC directly. Beautiful 720p and 1080p content without any transcoding hassles.
MightySkate
If your setup is that close to each then you're right, why go through the hassle of torturing your PC. Most of the 720p documentaries i have stream perfectly fine but when i try to play 1080p's it turns into a slideshow. I guess 'n' std will be our savior come next year Edited November 16, 2007 by MightySkate
vinitwins
the 360 is a media extender remember? for 720p you'll need HD-WMV content -- cant playback hi-res xvid or h264 videos without transcoding. V Just install ffdshow and you can easily play xvid and other formats on your Media Centre which in turn you can watch on your xbox 360 since 360 is also an extender nope, not without transcoding...! vinitwins
what you need is a RCA female to STEREO female plug (into which you can attach any standard headphones/speakers) - alfa generally has such connectors for ~50bucks V
THE DIRECTOR
so i attach the object u telling me to the red and white connectors on the vga cable, then attach the head phone...................... right??
MarketTantrik
You cant use USB headphones with the X360. You'll have to use the RCA adaptor as suggested by Vin. Get yourself a pair of Sennheiser 5.1s and you are in aural heaven.
