nautical_j Posted July 5, 2012 Report Share Posted July 5, 2012 I have played every ES game except Arena and Daggefall.......Skyrim is more streamlined and accessible compared to old ES games but that doesn't mean it's dumbed down or bad RPG game..It's the biggest and best ES game till date....imo.. .. Even after playing Morrowind you say Skyrim is the best among all RPGs? Then again its your opinion and I respect it :-) ME and Witcher are story driven RPG games unlike ES.. ..In ES you create your own story and choose your own path....Which you can't do in ME or Witcher or any other non-Bethesda RPG game... FF & Demon Souls really ?...Just Stop it..No more dumb comparisons..Skyrim and Demon souls are completely different dude......Next you will start comparing Skyrim with COD .I know you are not a fan of Skyrim but this is too much..... Story driven or not, Skyrim still comes under the RPG category and there is no harm comapring Skyrim with FF, Demon's Souls or even any of the games I have mentioned... And you are right I am NOT a fan of Skyrim.. After spending 100s of hours on Morrowind, I feel that Skyrim and Oblivion raped ES series in the face. Do you think GTA4 is the best game of all time? or even the best GTA coz of metascore.... fukin bloated paid BS. DD is a new ip and is unique , obviously there's gonna be some idiots reviewers who wont get it. The point we are trying to make is that DD does a lot of things better than Skyrim . Which Skyrim can definitely improve on. And many people prefer those aspects of the game more than others . And Tony hawk is the best PS2 game of all time . Scores arent the be all and end all of everything , if you like Skyrim better thats great(Even i think , Skyrim does many things way better than DD). But saying its better just coz of Scores is stupid . I wonder how Skyrim would have performed if it released after DD , this game puts many things in Skyrim to shame. and please dont compare DD to amalur that was average imo. Btw did you play DD? Hit the nail on the head here.... I was at first taken aback by the stupid map, the lack of direction and the irritating travel system... But after putting in a few hours and ploughing through 3-4 hours, I finally got a hold of this game and realized that all the things I hated was actually a big part of DD... These are the things that give you a sense of adventure.... I do have one complaint though... i would have loved if the enemies were a bit more randomized... Can't type for sh*t on a touchscreen. Like I said before, it's not just the combat which DD does better. And even if it's the combat...you spend most of the game fighting things so it's still a MAJOR factor for comparison. What Bethesda does best (at least post-Morrowind) is that they create a good sandbox which modders can improve upon. Btw have you even played Dragon's Dogma? M not talking about inserting the game disc into the console playing it for an hour or so and then declaring "Skyrim is the undisputed king of open world RPG"... When it comes to RPGs playing for an hour is like watching a cutscene in FPS games... From all your posts here, I get a sense of feeling that either you have not played DD or have not invested sufficient time in the gem of a game called Dragon's Dogma... I say this cos all you say is "Skyrim does everything better except combat "... Dragon's Dogma is not only about combat, its more than sum of its parts...
