nameless
sorry to bump this thread... One thing... I linked my CC to paypal and do a paypal purchase. say a 10k one. can i convert it into emi then? You can talk to the Bank guys and then convert it to EMI, should be same as any normal transaction for them. Haven't tried on my purchase from Paypal though, but done so for other purchase. Somebody
I remember reading on paypal that purchases using paypal credit or a bank account will not be charged any fees while purchases using the creditcard on paypal will cost you some small amt. Shantz
ok, I did a major goof up As i need to buy something from US and ship it to US itself, I created a US paypal account and tfred around 250$ to it from my Indian paypal thinking I can use it that way. But now it turns out that US paypal limits you to 0$ limit before you get verified Now my 250$ is stuck there so the point is can I verify this US account through a virtual credit card like entropay or something? I searched on net and some say entropay works, some say it doesn't.. Please tell me urgently..

You didnt have to do that. You could have made the payment using your Indian paypal account itself. Contact paypal and tell them what you did and that you want to cancel the transfer. Actually if I buy through Indian paypal, then paypal doesn't allow to change country in the shipping address and the seller said that he will ship only to address given by paypal because of seller protection. Contacting paypal is my last option as they restrict using multiple account and moreso, transferring of money between them, so i fear that they might suspend my accounts and i'd lose all the money that is there

Now I need to get a few things clarified how reliable is the paypay , has anyone faced a failed transaction before? and how much is the transaction fees for converting rupee into Gbp or $$$ ? well its reliable enough..never faced any problem till now nope never a failed transaction...if your transaction comes as failed, its usually for their security concerns..which is a bit stupid..like once i was trying to transfer 10$ to a friend but it never allowed me..and yea mine is a verified business account... the last thing about fees, well never got into all those calculations ever

spindoctor
Sorry to have necro bumped this thread but today I got a paypal account for me to help all those steam purchases. Now I need to get a few things clarified how reliable is the paypay , has anyone faced a failed transaction before? and how much is the transaction fees for converting rupee into Gbp or $$ ? paypal is very reliable, you won't get security leaks anywhere and you won't lose money or anything. the exchange rate they charge varies depending on the current, real exchange rate obviously, but in my experience, they usually set the rate to benefit themselves. for example, if the dollar is at 44, they might charge 46. if it goes up to 46, they will go to 47.5. but when it goes back down to 44.5, they will hold on to the 47.5 rate for a while. in general, paypal's exchange rate will be ~2 rupees per dollar higher than the actual exchange rate, so you can consider that their transaction fee. assuming you use the account only to buy cheap stuff from steam and all which doesn't go beyond 5-10$, you'll only be paying ~20 rupees extra over the actual price.
