Pyrotek
Hey guys, I spotted a copy of DMC 4 in a store the other day. But the box didn't quite look like the other PS3 game titles ( the PAL ones, I mean) There was lot of Jap/chinese text on the back along with english text as well. BUt it didn't say anything about which region. or atleast, I couldn't figure it out. Point is, I wanna know if this will work on my PAL PS3. Is DMC4 region-free on the PS3, and does that hold good for other PS3 games as well?

Hahaman
Started playing again on Son Of Sparda mode... already halfway through. Playing as Dante now and missing the Devil Bringer The only tough bosses so far were Credo and Sanctus (old fart is much faster in this mode and keeps moving away constantly) . Managed to beat Dante in less than a minute this time! damn how do u play these kinda games on hard man
Hahaman
It takes time to master these games. You are new to these sort of games, try the Easy mode first. Get a hang of the nuances, beat it and then try the next difficulty mode. Of course, experience in these games help a lot but it is the level of challenge that makes these games fun yep any fps game on the hardest difficulty me up for it but this is tough though i finished dmc4 on easy mode now gonna try the other

You need to keep playing until you've figured out the enemies and their attack patterns, remember, EVERY enemy in DMC always has a set pattern. Once you've figured it out it's very easy to evade and counter attack. I'm playing on Human mode just for kicks and orb farming. I can't wait to finish it again on DMD and HoH. CarbonCore
Heaven or Hell mode was insane on DMC3. Difficulty was same as normal except one simple rule, one hit kills all enemies (except bosses), downside is, if you get hit even once, you die instantly. Dunno if its the same with DMC4. Harsahil
playing the game second time around on Son of Sparda difficulty. the achievements system is pretty good. contributes to replayability of the game. i love this game. however i feel the Hard difficulty is softer than that in DMC3. ended the game first on Devil Hunter Mode. didnt try the Human Mode as i am quite familiar with this series. however there r certain aspects of story being untold in this game.. how did Nero get that 'arm'? and there's some mention like that he's also got the same blood as Sparda.. that thing is not cleared in the whole game. anyone knows answer to this? Tyler
Nero's Demon Arm and bloodline is never explained in the game, probably left for further sequels. Sparda probably had an affair with another human woman besides Dante/Vergil's mother it seems... so that makes Dante and Nero half brothers. On another note. I still play this game.... doesn't get old at all for me. Must have finished it at least 5 times now... just need to beat DMD mode.
Harsahil
u know i liked Dante's gameplay more than Nero for my first time through. but in Son of Sparda difficulty, surviving those beasts were so hard so got more used to Nero's controls and now i m finding it difficult to play with Dante now.. as far as the story goes, i agree that more sequels should unveil Nero's history. he's a very interesting character though. liked him a lot.. i was thinking that letting Dante go was a letdown for the game, but when i played the game, i found out that Nero is an equally awesome character. really like his affection for Kyrie and his strong will to protect her. Tyler
^^ Playing as Nero on higher difficulties is definitely easier than with Dante.
MITHUNtheDON
Problem is Camera angles , sometimes the right Analog stick on PS3 doesnt seem to react , kind crazy
Harsahil
^^ Playing as Nero on higher difficulties is definitely easier than with Dante. yea with Nero it is possible to run away from battle and pull out the demons close to u one by one for beating. btw i finished Son of Sparda difficulty. some boss fights were really pain in the a*s but i managed to pull it off. upping the difficulty definitely makes game longer and more enjoyable, but also increases frustration. but overall i enjoyed it more than Devil Hunter mode. what's up in Dante must Die mode? i tried Heaven or Hell mode, there is one simple rule, one hit is one kill be it u or enemies. interesting thing. would love to try this one. Harsahil
Problem is Camera angles , sometimes the right Analog stick on PS3 doesnt seem to react , kind crazy camera is fixed in most of the locations in this game to give it a cinematic look just like God of War.. in God of War, there is not even an option to change camera angle, but still it is the best game till date

DMD Mode is pretty manageable if you've beaten SoS except for boss fights. The devil bringer window while playing as Nero rarely happens and is always extremely short, so you need to pummel them while dodging their attacks constantly and it does get pretty tough. I would recommend having a fully upgraded life and DT bar. Which means multiple playthroughs on lower difficulties. Also enemies use DT in DMD mode (including bosses). They're pretty much invincible when that happens.
