spindoctor Posted October 15, 2012 Report Share Posted October 15, 2012 finished the game. there are no two ways about this... dishonored is straight up a game of the year contender. steam says it took a solid 20 hours, although i'd say you could shave off a couple if i hadn't spent time reading every single book or note or poem i found. anyone who finishes this in 6 hours or so was sticking to the main story and missed out on the real experience of the game, which is exploring the world and finding all the different ways to approach any situation. there are some usability design issues (like why do i always need to have a knife in one hand and cycle through 10 powers on the other hand) and the game favors violence to non lethal playstyles, but these are minor complaints compared to what arkane and bethesda have pulled off here... a fantastic, high budget, single player only new IP which is bursting with creativity in both it's setting and gameplay. skidred Posted October 15, 2012 Report Share Posted October 15, 2012 I m quite literally shocked how ppl have finished it in 6 hrs..it took me 5 Hours for the first overseer mission itself...Indeed it is special...And The best part is u are encouraged by the tale to take the non lethal part but if u r a trophy hunter it favors high chaos for bronze trophies and NO chaos for golden and the rare ones...Its great how this game wants u play it again and again...and still u find more interesting things to find and learn.. Played over 6 hours and have still not completed the first proper assassination. Taking my time to explore, read the lore and try out different approaches. The mistake i was making earlier was after i knock out the guards unconcious i thrw them into the water as to hide the body but they ended up being counted as dead....
