Only Sony is producing decent phones in that price range ATM.

And I agree Xperia U is kinda small but it doesn't give the cheap look. :P

What about One V? Is it a good phone? It's at around 16k.

One V for 16? Where?

My friend's One V also lags man...it does not have official ICS either...so...

Xperia U doesnot lag but neither does it fly...flashing custom ROMS is a tedious task (I could be wrong but I just gave up after I saw that I have to first unlock the bootloader to flash the phone and the XDA community has a single thread for xperia U/Sola and P ROMS)

If you don't like Defy + go for the Xperia U...screen is too small but then again it's as big as the iphone 4 :P

It does bro.

Check out the link,

HTC One V FK

They are even shipping it with ICS version now.

L -o-f**king-L ....I meant neo V (I even wrote ONE V in my previous post...my brain is deteriorating by the day)...One V on the other hand is a kickass phone...but out of his budget.

dude, WTF are you talking about? I am currently using neo V, it has OFFICIAL ICS and it does not lag. I bought it almost a year ago and have lots of apps, it still works faster than some of the other devices. And it does have secondary camera. Perhaps your friend is not very good at caring of phone (no offence).

Kya bol raha hai?... You won't believe it but it restarts on its own at least twice a day everyday when he's playing asphalt on it... I thought it's a bad phone... Maybe you're too good with the phone :P.... And he said there's no ICS for that phone too :S

He is definitely a n00b then. Either he don't know how to update a phone or he is using a completely different phone. And he should've given his phone to Sony service centre, it was common problem when it launched. Luckily my phone didn't have that problem neither did my friend who also have the same phone. Considering its still in warranty, he should give his phone to service centre. There is still time. And I am pretty sure, they'll return his phone with ICS update.

CM10 Preview 2 for the Note is out! Much smoother now.

Kudos to Google for introducing tvdpi! You can get that at 213 dpi on the Note and it's oh-so-amazing! It's perfect! My note is literally a mini Nexus 7 now!

Will try it today. I am keen on tablet mode.

And I use the phone for some SMSing/calls a day. Apart from that, heavy usage is browsing and video playback. So for this, is the PA JB or CM10v2 stable enough?

How do you enable 213dpi on CM10 on Note? I remember 213 = stock tablet DPI in PA.

Use 'ROM Toolbox Lite' from the market to change DPI. On ICS, 213 was tablet mode but on JB its phablet mode. Though you can still get tablet mode on 160 DPI.

Anyhoo, the ROM needs improvement. There are some memory leaks here and there.

Hmm, will try out CM10 now. Have taken a nandroid backup of current PA installation

Steps -

1. Flash CM10

2. Flash GApps

3. Wipe data/reset

4. Wipe cache

5. Reboot

To go back to my PA nandroid -

1. Flash PA

2. Flash GApps

3. Wipe data/reset

4. Wipe cache

5. Reboot (optional I guess).

6. Restore backup

This should be safe enough.

You're currently on PA CM9 right? Then yup safe enough.

And pop up play on the S3 is brilliant. I know stick it also does the same thing, but not as smoothly. There's no lag or stutter when you switch modes. Love it.
