Slight OT-

Exclusive game for 3DS, Persona Q- Shadow of the Labyrinth announced

It will incorporate characters from Persona 3 and 4.

The story of the new game takes place on the last day of the Yasogami High culture festival. During the event, the heroes of Persona 4 see a strange bell tower appear on the school grounds. The heroes of Persona 3 also hear the bell, and are dragged into the future where the Persona 4 cast awaits. They are locked in the school covered in Shadows, but meet two mysterious individuals named Zen and Rei, who have lost their memories. The cast soon learns that Zen and Rei's lost memories may be the key to solving the mystery of the bell tower's sudden appearance. Although only one of the silent protagonists can lead the party, the player will experience a different story depending on the protagonist they choose. By choosing the Persona 4 hero, the player will experience a story more closely involved with the Persona 4 cast and vice versa.
EDIT: There's also a new Persona arena sequel and a Persona dance game???

Atlus’ recently announced Persona 5 will be filled with a hearty helping of high school angst if a recent Dengeki PlayStation report is representative of the upcoming PlayStation 3 release. The Japanese magazine claims that the hotly anticipated sequel will once again take place in a classroom, but will find its cast chained to a slew of modern-day problems. Not being able to find a PlayStation 4 in a local store is probably one of them.

According to the publication, the developer’s hoping to convey a sense of catharsis as you gradually overcome these setbacks, resulting in a slightly different vibe for the popular role-playing series. However, the studio’s eager to not isolate fans, adding that while the title will have a different mood to previous entries, there’ll still be plenty that long-term advocates will recognise. Feel free to breathe a sigh of relief, readers.

LOL, so atlas needs a full console cycle to figure out how it works eh ? Both p3 and p4 came on ps2 during the ps3 era and p5 is coming to ps3 during the ps4 era

Petsona isnt the only game atlus makes. They released catherine, p4a on ps3 and many SMT games on ps2.

Persona games are huge in terms of writing, even fighting game persona 4 arena takes up around 20-25 hrs to read all the text in story mode, about a size of a 1000 page book. Rpgs have even more text. Overall those games are more focoused on simulation(social links) than rpg elemnts. Its writing that takes up most of the time in dev cycle, not figuring out how it works. As for sales, they are like rockstar in japan. No matter when they release their games, they always sell well.

And yet they are better than 90% of RPGs that come out on nextgen systems.
