Importing pc components from the U.S. through a friend.

Recommended Posts

Guys I need to buy some PC components. I've searched for used ones in some communities here but to no luck. So I'm thinking of getting used/new pieces from the U.S.

I know someone over there who can help me (hopefully) with the purchase and shipping.

My concerns are shipping charges and customs.

The parts which I need are processors, motherboards and RAMs. They will be entry-level range. Older generation models. Capable of running MMOs and MOBAs and some older AAA titles at 900p. APUs preferably so I wont have to spend on dedicated cards.

I'm thinking of using USPS for shipping. I've used their service once to receive a product sample. I paid $9 for a small package and no customs (probably because it had no commercial value). The other time was when I got a sponsored product shipped from the U.S. for which I bore no cost.

Regarding customs, they charge it on the value declared on the bill so can I fake the bill or get duplicates made? I want to get this done by hook or crook. Would it be a problem?

So would it be worth the hassle and savings? My budget is tight so I really need to lower the expenses as much as I can.

On a side note if any of you have such components for sale do let me know. I need a good number of them.

Eagerly waiting.
