Set several years before the previous chapters in the series, the story will put you in the shoes of a younger Batman. Players will meet many of the franchise’s most important characters for the first time and even develop important relationships with them. Warner Bros. Games Montreal has taken the mantle of the bat from Rocksteady Studios this time around for Batman: Arkham Origins. WB Montreal has full access to Rocksteady's custom modified Unreal engine to capture the look and feel of the Arkhamverse. As the title suggests, the game takes place years before both of the previous Arkham titles when a young, unrefined Batman encounters many supervillains for the first time. VG247 own sources confirm that Rocksteady Studios is not developing this particular game. This could nod to the rumoured ‘Silver Age’ Batman prequel that was touted last year. I remember a TMNT rumour a while ago.. Either TMNT or a different Batman game not connected to the Arkham storyline. Weren't there rumours of a Silver Age Batman game being developed by Rocksteady? Paul Dini is not writing it for sure after that main game dispute and Harley Quinn's Revenge. Just can't see where this would go without Sefton Hill though. The silver age thing is going on for quite a while now. That prophecy by Michael Lane in AC was just a tip of the iceberg that will surely take place in this. The name might turn out to be " Arkham Origins " as already rumored than Ashes of Arkham. My guess would be the events taking place in a non-canon prequel in an unknown time featuring EVERY possible character debut & return as the easter eggs hinted , various members of JLA and their respective universe and finally get back to present day , to only be revealed that " All the world is a stage " esque trolling by Scarecrow who proceeds forward to burn Gotham down with Firefly. Not just Rocksteady , but look at devs like Mercurysteam after MOF and LOS2. Huge potential imo if they aren't committed to nextgen projects yet.
