Max Payne 3

@KOX: I wouldn't want snap-on cover mechanics in my Max Payne. They are incredibly irritating.

Last Man Standing has worked as advertised for me. Agreed sometimes it takes a second to figure out which enemy the game wants us to kill but otherwise it is cool to see Max whip around 180 degrees in the midst of a dive to kill the guy who shot him in the back.

Stuck cameras/ weird camera angles are a part and parcel of TPS games. Last Man Standing atleast gives us a fighting chance of clawing out from what would have been a sure death, had the feature not existed.

I never said anything about snapping to cover! What I want is for him to atleast have the decency to move himself into cover if he's near it (or at least give us the ability to crawl to cover) after you've shoot-dodged him.

As it works now, you just stand up, get shot and then run to the nearest cover. It isn't ideal. It also takes away from how 'cool' the gunplay is supposed to be.

I don't know...what you are saying sounds like snap-on cover.

He does take an inordinately long time to get back on his feet but then I feel that is what Max is right now, with all the booze and painkillers running in his veins.

Actually if the booze and painkillers have made him so sluggish, then the things he is still able to do in game are not at all plausible.

Bulletime cannot be explained in any of the Max Payne games unless you want to say Max had quick reflexes when he was young in MP1 and now his drugs addled brain makes him hallucinate and see the bullets in MP3.

Snap-on the character attaching to cover without you having to press a button to do it. Kane & Lynch used snap-on cover. Approach a wall and they'll automatically take cover.

What I'm asking for isn't that. I'm only asking that he intelligently gets into cover IF it's close by and ONLY after you've shoot-dodged. Its better than standing yourself upright like a flagpole.

Bullet time is definitely a result of his quick reflexes. If that is still working, then shouldn't he be a little more agile(not considering drugs and booze atm)?

Max Payne 3 for PC to ship on four DVDs; Indian pricing confirmed

The PC version of Max Payne 3, which raised a few eyebrows with its 35 GB minimum storage requirement, will ship on four DVDs, the game’s Indian distributor E-Xpress Interactive has confirmed.

E-Xpress has also revealed that the PC version will retail for Rs 999 in India. The PC release is scheduled for June 1, while the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions hit stores today.

Specialist retailer Games The Shop held a midnight launch for the game at its Oberoi Mall store in Goregaon East, Mumbai. All visitors were given free Max Payne 3 merchandise, while buyers received bonus in-game content.

To celebrate the launch, every shelf at the store has been packed with Max Payne 3 and other Rockstar titles.

Apologies, if it was already posted.

Played through first 7 chapters of SP . Loving the SP so far.

The enemy AI is damn good . For me at least, they never used the same strategy to kill me.

The only thing that is disappointing about it is that the game is too flashy , where as a noir has to be dark. Infact I loved chapter 4 which is basically a

flashback

. I wish the game had more chapters like that, or the entire game was like that.

About the gameplay, the cover points is actually annoying. The character animations is probably the best I have seen. Just amazing. But they spoil it with the stupid cover thing.

Just as a scenario, you have three guys shooting on you and you are attacking from behind cover. Your health goes super low and you hit last man standing and you kill off one of the guys leaving 2 of them. One would imagine that after the last man standing, Max would fight in the same stance as before . But no, he would be lying down in the ground chilling, putting him in open fire. It takes atleast 2 seconds to put him back into cover . This is super annoying.

:O

Thank god i bought it for PS3....

Even I bought it for PS3 (because My computer can't play any games :P ) but I don't see the big deal. You will anyway install everything and have to swap the disc just once. After installation you only need to pop in the first disc. A little inconvenience for enhanced graphics and better quality cut scenes is not worth complaining IMHO. I would love to play it on PC but I can't . :(
