Pre-order locked content and Season Pass detailed

Preorder bonuses are standard fare these days, and XCOM 2 will be no exception. 2K has announced that gamers who lay down their money up front will be given the Resistance Warrior Pack, with extra customization options and a new "Survivor of the Old War" recruit, at no extra charge. It also unveiled a season pass that will add three themed DLC packs to the game is also available, and there's a new trailer, too.

The season pass, called the Reinforcement Pack, will include the "rebellion-themed" Anarchy's Children, which will add more "dramatic" soldier customizations; Alien Hunters, with yet more customization options, more powerful weapons and armor, a new mission; and Shen's Last Gift, featuring an all-new class of soldier with unique weapons and armor, and an additional "narrative-driven mission and map." Anarchy's Children is slated to come out in the spring of 2016, while Alien Hunters and Shen's Last Gift will follow in the summer.

It is not required, but you should give it a try. Enemy Unknown is one of the best game.

XCOM 2 takes place 20 years after the events of the first game in a version of the universe where humanity lost the fight against the Alien invasion.

(It is going to be better than EU in probably every aspect. So play it before, or you will find it less interesting after playing XCOM 2..or skip if no time)

Long War Studios will produce three unique mods for XCOM 2, all available for free at the game's launch on February 5. Follow the link for the full rundown!

This past weekend, during our panel at PAX South, we revealed details on our partnership with Long War Studios. LWS will produce three unique mods for XCOM 2, all available for free at launch. The mods are as follows:

SMG-series Weapon Mod

This mod adds three new Submachine Gun-type weapons, one for each of XCOM 2’s three weapon tiers: conventional, magnetic and beam. SMGs offer bonus mobility, concealment and close-range accuracy when compared to the Assault Rifle, but at a penalty to damage output and long-range accuracy.

Muton Centurion Mod

This mod adds a new alien unit to XCOM 2: the Muton Centurion. This Muton leader is stronger than the base Muton and has the ability to grant bonuses to other alien units. These units are easily identified by their red armor and special face mask.

XCOM Leader Mod

This mod adds a special “Leader” upgrade path for XCOM soldiers. Leaders, which may be unlocked via an upgrade to the Guerilla Tactics School, draw from a pool of ten new abilities. Each Leader may learn up to five of these skills. Only one Leader may be taken on a mission at a time.

All three of these mods will be available free of charge. For more information on mod support, watch the VOD of our PAX South panel below. You will be able to download and install these mods, and more, through Steam Workshop when XCOM 2 launches on February 5.
