so here it goes i bought a ds3 off flipkart in december because first one had gone kaput.....
So here is the probelm......
when i first received the controller and i opened it to play i noticed that it took too long than usual to sync with my ps3 .. Plus now I have also checked online to spot a fake one and seems mine is fake...

how did i spotted my fake one..
1. On the box of controller and on the slip(in which date month and year of import) is given there is a difference between the manufacturer address.

2.It took more time than original one to sync with my ps3.
3.Its analog sticks feel stiffer than original one.
and there are a some more also....

Now the problem is how do i report to flipkart and get it replaced ( I know its too late :P) but still what reason should i give to them.

And will they replace it as its already 3 months since i am using the controller..

Need help immediately.

EDIT: Also the controller has middle east language written on box along with english (where as it should be chinese and english right?) and the vibration feels heck lot different than the original one.

Tell them that you went to Sony Service Centre and showed Sony the problem you faced. Regarding syncing and stiffness. The Service Centre refused to service this product as it was fake. Then threaten FlipKart to sue them for selling you a fake product. As if you notice FlipKart mentions in its listing that all products sold are 100% Genuine and with warranty.

It always works for me.

i called the customer care executive today so he was asking me for the details of the "sony service centre which reported my product to be counterfeit and he also asked for the name of the person who informed me told me the product was counterfeit" ...

Now what to do..

Take it to service centre for real and get it checked.

You could have faked that data. Cos they can't verify it. Could have given random service centre name in your area and any person name as the employee. Also if they ask you for proof then you then actually go to service centre and get a note or any letter stating it is fake. Then tell FlipKart that you took a second opinion by going to the other service centre which is the actual service centre. Plus you will have proof too.

well if i go to service center and tell them about the problem of controller will they replace it?

and can they verify themselves if the controller is counterfeit or not ??

They will check the product first. If it is genuine and fixable then they will not replace it but fix it. If within 3 months warranty period. Else they will charge you. If not fixable then they will replace it.

If the product is fake they will tell you that they will not service it. So that's when you can ask for a letter or any acknowledgement that this product is indeed fake. Also make sure you take the FlipKart invoice so that you can prove to Sony that you purchased from a reliable store.

so i went to service center today and as i expected they were not able to identify controller as counterfeit and they said they would replace it

but the replacement time was "1 f**king Month" so i said no to them ....

Now i will take it to another service center from where i got my ps3 replaced the staff there was good and looked qualified technicians so lets see what they would do...

Dude waiting for 1 month was ok considering they were not able to identify if it was a counterfeit. What if the same was then you won't be able to replace it. See if the other service centre replaces or not.

  • 1 month later...
  • 2 weeks later...

Dude, are you CRAZY!? You should've give it to them then and there. Even if unluckily you had gotten a fake controller, you would've now gotten an original working controller.

I would seriously suggest you don't waste anymore time and get it done, unless you wanna end up spending more money on a new controller.
