Somebody
Will Every PS3 Game Receive Trophies? No timeline set, but all titles to turn shiny. UPDATE: According to a story by GameSpot, Sony has once again denied that all PS3 titles will have Trophy support. The company confirmed that several major titles on the console, including Burnout Paradise and Uncharted, will receive Trophy updates, but both third-party and internal developers will be able to decide for themselves whether or not to support the feature in their own games. Sounds like the company needs to get their message straight. ORIGINAL STORY: Today the PlayStation 3 2.40 update rolled out, however briefly, with the new Trophies system in place (see our walkthrough above for more info). Since existing PS3 games need to be patched to include the feature, there's not much need to replay your games just yet. But according to a new interview, Trophies will be rolling out for every title in the PlayStation 3 library. GameSpy interviewed Sony's Eric Lempel, who commented on their plans to get Trophy support into the library of PS3 games. "We're working with developers to hit a deadline," he said, citing time-constraints as a reason not to make the requirement too tight. "Ultimately, we'll have trophies for every game, but we didn't want to force it on them immediately." This seems to contradict earlier reports that Trophy support would be optional on the part of developers, but who's going to complain about more opportunities to boost their rank? HundredProofSam
currently trophies are included in super stardust HD, pixel junk eden and via patch in Pain it works a lot like achievements but there is no score....instead based on the difficulty of the trophy you get either a bronze, silver, gold, or platinum trophy....eg: u would get a bronze one for completing the tutorial and a gold for completing the game on hard...u only get platinum if u get all other trophies there is a level up system rather than a gamerscore.....u start at level zero and each trophy moves u closer to level 1....gold trophies take you up to the next level faster whereas bronze trophies will increase ur level to a lesser extent...so instead of a score u get a higher level the more trophies u unlock every 1st party PS3 game coming for the rest of 2008 will have trophies and past PS3 games can have the feature via a patch but u would need to replay them to get the trophies dont yall listen to the podcast? Somebody
every 1st party PS3 game coming for the rest of 2008 will have trophies and past PS3 games can have the feature via a patch but u would need to replay them to get the trophies peace The official Web site of Burnout Paradise's developer, EA-owned Criterion Games, also revealed the patch will be the first update to retroactively award trophies automatically. "Trophies will be awarded based on your progress in your existing save game," the developer said in a statement. "When the update arrives the trophies you have earned will reflect the progress you've made in the game at that time (so you won't have to replay the game again to earn trophies)." Hot-Drake-Pixel
LittleBigPlanet to feature Trophy support Media Molecule Co-Founder and Technical Director, David Smith, has confirmed the inclusion of Trophy support in the developer’s highly anticipated PlayStation 3 title, LittleBigPlanet. Speaking with Eurogamer during a live chat, Smith commented, "We've been having a lot of fun working out what trophies most fit our game. Because we have this catchphrase of 'Play, Create, Share', the trophies (and indeed some of the other scoring systems) reflect this.” He also touched on the requirements for unlocking one of the game’s trophies, stating that players would have to make their "sackperson be thrown at some huge velocity," suggesting that a user created machine would be needed to accomplish the task. LittleBigPlanet is due out exclusively on PS3 later this year. ------------- Any guesses on who among GIans will procure most trophies?
