manu_para
Hi Guys, I think my Ps3 is showing early signs of YLOD. It shuts down automatically 10-15 mins in the game, otherwise it'll work for hours and almost never autoshuts (youtube, movies, songs etc). I read online that it is due to heating and removing chips and adding thermal paste would help. However I'm quite skeptical to do any of that. So i'm thinking of either of the following options: 1. get it exchanged at CEX ( i guess they might find out the problem) 2. Get it repaired locally Any idea where i can get a reliable repairman in Gurgaon / Delhi area? Was thinking of taking it to Palika? Guys please suggest. abhi90
From what I know the YLOD crops up after a couple of months, better to get a new one. Don't dupe DEX as they'll pass it off to a customer who'll suffer. Why don't you get a new one at about 50% off, if the PS3 was bought from here. Is it still valid? I got it from Chroma Bangalore back in 2009, don't have the bill though. The reason i mentioned CEX was that they would refurbish and then give it to someone as all the products sold by them come with a 12 month warranty. Anyway the 50% offer looks tempting, where do i inquire?
VelivolusDas
You get that 50% deal IF your PS3 dies and you take it to a Sony Service Centre. You may want to check and confirm at your local service centre as it's noted in the past that different service centres provide different information.
