LaZyVigiLaNtE
Hi all, Want to buy a cheap UPS for my PS3 as the flat I moved into is in an area that experiences power shortage. Now I know another thread of the sort exists but it doesn't have any specific models named. So I was wondering if one of you who use a UPS with your PS3 could help me out. I'd like to go as cheap as possible...thinking along the lines of(INtex Protector 725) http://www.snapdeal.com/product/intex-ups-protector-725/1187781560 or(iBall) http://www.amazon.in/iBall-621V-Nirantar-UPS/dp/B00FNI7C3W/ref=pd_sim_pc_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1P426KQJNG7BXQZWNMZZ All I'm concerned with is the switchover speed - as in, would those models be fast enough to take over in case of an outage? I just need a couple of minutes of backup - just enough time to shut down my PS3. Thanks for reading. Appreciate any suggestions from folks who use UPS with their PS3 or have friends who do. LaZyVigiLaNtE
Yeah, I'm aware they aren't the best...but I'm broke and think I'd spent enough on my ps3 setup already(replacement, accessories, whathaveyou). I just need to know if they will give atleast 2-3 mins of backup just to turn off the console. All I'm concerned with is the switchover time. The intex one has abour 6ms , so was wondering if it'd be enough. Ideally I would want to get a pure sinewave, So I'm afraid the brand doesn't factor in currently. AlphaRapax
Those UPS units are nothing great, they're pretty bad in fact, but if you're left without a choice, you might as well go with it, Ive used cheap UPS units in the past, and they are adequate. What PS3 do you have? The older Fat version consumes 180watts The Slim version takes 87 watts Depending on which you'll get different uptimes, but I think a couple of minutes should be guaranteed. Just dont expect those UPS units to last more than the warranty period (you can get them fixed during warranty, but not after) Cheers
