SonicDave
Planning to buy a few things, mainly a 3DS and a few games, from the U.S. this coming Black Friday. Let's presume that none of the online stores ship to PPO-box/Third party shipper address. What is the best way for someone in the U.S. to ship it to me while possibly incurring the least shipping/tax/custom etc cost to make the deal worth it? The limited 3DS is expected to be sold for $100~7000 INR. Does Amazon.com still have the international shipping option?
ThatPSFanboy
Does Amazon.com still have the international shipping option? Yes, only if the seller offers it and they'd still charge you all the duties and taxes at the time of checkout

I've ordered some items a few years ago. I heard that free international shipping (order should not be less than X-amount) was discontinued so...Good that they still give international shipping. Any idea if their delivery reach tier 2/3 towns? And what about the "manual shipping" from the U.S. part?

Any idea if their delivery reach tier 2/3 towns? And what about the "manual shipping" from the U.S. part? I have shipped items to second tier cities/towns from amazon US and UK. But they were all from amazon warehouse and hence packaging and shipping were good. I wouldn't recommend ordering expensive items from other sellers(the "manual shipping" guys who do not charge customs during checkout). You may have to pay customs yourself or the package may be thrashed by the time it reaches you. More often than not, my package(mostly DS/3DS games) was damaged with game cases being broken. SonicDave
Update: couldn't grab those $99 n3DS. But found a couple of used/opened boxes pieces. Thinking of going for them now. However the deal will take place privately where someone there will buy it on my behalf and then ship it to me. Any suggestions on how to get it shipped from the U.S. in this regard? The good news is the invoice will have just $99+taxes ie. total of <$110 (doesn't include the games which will be inside another parent box). How much customs and shipping do I need to pay for it? What courier to go for? I've used USP in the past for smaller light weight items. Want to be sure of everything before I proceed. Thanks guys. SonicDave
Yes, only if the seller offers it and they'd still charge you all the duties and taxes at the time of checkoutI was originally going to do this but couldn't get the damn 3DS which seemed to always run out of stock within seconds. Couldn't get it anywhere, Amazon, BB, ToysRUs you name it. Would've been great if Amazon had everything. Lesser hassles. And scalper prices are ~$200 for the $99 model like seriously?
