Tyler
Yeah it has the same risk/reward concept. Run with more XP, get more XP but lose it and you lose it all. It's actually a pretty cool system.
harjas
Anyone remembers that trailer of dark souls 2 where that demon sorcerer(purple colored ) was using magic and they showed different classes trying to kill him but last class they showed killed him the gameplay trailer few pages back is similar to it like the concept Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Edited April 26, 2014 by harjas
(A)Kira
They've said they're taking inspiration from all these games, but I hope it doesn't turn into a copy/paste version of it. I wanna see more of the Zelda puzzle solving they said it'd have.

SRINI87
Lords of the Fallen Will Have “Over 15 Boss Encounters”, Website Updated ome new details on Lords of the Fallen have been revealed via the game’s updated website which looks quite pretty. You should check it out here. According to the game details page on the website, Lords of the Fallen will have over 15 boss fights which will include “giant beasts”. One has to remember that Lords of the Fallen isn’t a huge open world experience, so 15 bosses is actually a pretty good number for an ARPG that’s primarily a linear experience with exploration in the levels of the game. Some other details for the game are listed on the feature page, most of which aren’t exactly new, but we’ll list them below for those of you that might be uninformed about the game. The combat system with many complex skills Large variety of tactical medieval-based weapon fighting techniques Powerful and spectacular supernatural skills Large variety of items and gear Classes of gear: Warrior, Rogue, Cleric Tons of hidden objects and locations Freedom of mixing different classes for both gear and skills Medieval fantasy world Filled with chaos and lethal danger, where player never feels safe The full history of both world and the player character unveils and dramatically changes throughout the gameplay Fighting against the formidable Lords and Generals Even regular opponents make up a challenging duels Over 15 boss encounters including giant beasts Opponents include both supernatural beings and humans src: Onlysp Edited May 12, 2014 by SRINI87
(A)Kira
So red bar for health, yellow for stamina and blue for magic. I like the fire attacks he was using. And the boss progressions (This isn't even my final form) are nicely done.

Tyler
Not gonna lie but this is one of my most anticipated upcoming releases. The Souls inspiration is really apparent but one thing that bothers is that from all the videos it looks like enemies are meatshields and take forever to go down. The thing that makes the Souls games stand out is that most enemies take 2-3 hits to go down but the fact that even they can do the same to you is what makes the combat challenging.

Heaven Angel
I'm keeping my hopes low. Deck13's last RPG was very mediocre and CI Games last game was epic fail. Also, hoping for proper KB+M controls. :/ Edited June 12, 2014 by Heaven Angel
Tyler
I personally think you can't have good KB+M controls for third person melee games (just like how FPS games will always be better with a mouse). There's probably the odd game here and there but generally these games are designed for the controller.
(A)Kira
He said once that there were cues from Zelda too, like the boss transformations. I hope a little of the puzzle solving carries over too.

dante77
I personally think you can't have good KB+M controls for third person melee games (just like how FPS games will always be better with a mouse). There's probably the odd game here and there but generally these games are designed for the controller. I disagree, Kingdom of Amalur was fun playing with KB+Mouse, controls were spot on. Yes, fast hacknslash games like DMC, NG are always meant to be played with controller and there are some exceptions like Dark Souls which are designed to play with a controller but for RPGs, KB+Mouse must be implemented well, a lot of time is actually spent on Menu-Screen for which you need mouse. Not that it can't be done with the controller but managing inventory frequently is kinda pain with controllers. Recent 'bound by fire' controls were also pretty good but that was an average (yet playable) game. But we really can't complaint about this as a controller is a must these days, fighting games and hack n slash are now being made or PC too unlike old times. Lets hope Witcher 3 will implement KB+M controls like Witcher 2.

Aftrunner
Wow it really is copying a lot from Dark Souls. Stamina bar, limited estus uses, similar kind of combat etc. Fine by me though. Better a DaS clone than a CoD one.
