Think it's time to get a new desktop.

I have been quoted 37K for this setup, I can drop HDD and stretch till 40K, can I get Win7 or any other upgrades? Or any changes to the following you guys suggest?

Intel Core i5 - 650 Processer

Intel P55 PJ Motherboard

4 GB DDR3 Ram - Transcend

500 GB SATA HDD -Seagate

ATX Cooler Master Cabinet 334 elite model with 600 w extreme power Smps

XFX GTX465

Don't get the i5-650. Get an i5-760 or i7 (prices were slashed). The reason is quad core.

XFX GTX465? Didn't XFX switch to the other side? Get a GTX 460 1 gb (could be cheaper). Do NOT get the 460 768MB - there's more difference than just the ram. There are enough cheap mobos to support the i5/i7 - just get one which doesn't have onboard GPU.

I5 650 (it is for 8.5k btw)has 2 cores don't get that ,, get i5 2400 9.5k

Asus P55 PJ (can you specify exact model for prices ? Anyway it won't be more than 8k most probably 6k )

Take giga byte p67a udr3 9.5k

The cabinet is for 2.1k and smps another 3k

Btw the 600w smps will work like a 400w psu as it is cooler master which sucks rats a*s in making smpses

465 is an less power consuming version of 460 so I suggest take 460 and not xfx as they are too expensive

Msi 460gtx 10.8k

500gigs hdd 1.7k

Total - 35k for the specs he gave (my prices are taken from smc and theitwares which are shops in lamington road and nehru place )

37k for the suggested specs

Also @gramps the P** chipset mobos don't have graphic card inbuilt while H** and X** have graphics (replace ** with. 58 67 55 the corresponding chipset for processor )

I5 2500k - 11.8 k

Gigabyte GA p55 A UDR3 - 8.8k

HIS 6950 2GB - 16.4k (can be unlocked to 6970 if you are lucky)

Total - 37k

Take corsair H70 if you want a good liquid cooler without the hassles (believe me liquid colling will have so many pipes that you will start crying) it is for 5.5k or save some money and hassles and get thermalright venomous X

(3.75k) or Tuniq Tower 120mm extreme (3.3k) both give performance so awesome that you can overclock to 4GHz easily (though tuniq tower looks effin cool !! The fins are b-e-a utiful !!)

Get another chip of ram of same 2GB (can you use a separate type of ram ? If you can get corsair 4GB 1600Mhz for 2.6k) an get yourself enough 120mm fans for fillin all available spaces in your case (half cold air intake and half for hot air out) for a50 as they will allow you to overclock to 4.5Ghz (make sure you have enough 3 pin / 4 pin on your psu) http://www.theitwares.com/cooler-master-r4l2r20ckgp-120mm-blue-case-p-935.html

If you need more help lemme know

OMG P55 MOBO works with sandy bridge :P

Awesome budget!

i7-2600

ASUS P8P67 PRO Motherboard

MSI GTX570

hmm 2600 locked verion

also defference between normal asus p8p67 and pro is one supports just crossfire other supports both sli/crossfire.is there something else or just this

.mobo sure iam going to get this aus model. dunno about processar i was always thinking 2500k.no idea about hyper threading like which makes use of it

also another option 6850 crossfire for something like 20k dunno about heat and power consumptions issues.single 6850 is very power efficent

sorry amd 6 cores sucks.amd955 be rapes 1090t in gaming.anyway budget is not a problem i need sandy bridge

That's cause almost no game can use 6 cores properly ... Even 980x sucks In gaming

I would say go with combo 2 replacing 570 with HIS 6950 2GB and corsair H70 or tuniq tower 120mm extreme
