Research Project on Gaming in India at UC Berkeley

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a student at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, and I am doing a research project on the gaming industry in India. It would be really helpful if you guys could answer the following questions in this thread!

1. What sites do you guys use in India use to purchase online video games?

2. Are online marketplaces such as Steam store a popular method of buying games?

3. If so, how do you guys fund your Steam wallets?

4. What payment options, if provided, are most accessible to you guys?

5. What payment options do you prefer?

6. Finally, what stores do you guys usually go to for buying video games?

1.Flipkart,Amazon,GamesTheShop

2.Nope.Here most PC Gamers are :zodka: and for those who buy they buy retail games,Steam is just a DRM here for most. Also speeds here are sht,so buying retail is cheaper at launch(retail pc games cost 20-40$ equivalent here at launch) plus saves on bandwidth.People who purchase stuff on steam are a minority

3.Debit cards if they work :P Credit cards for those who have them

4.Cash on Delivery(atleasy for me)

5.Cash on Delivery or CC If buying from Amazon or Flipkart

6.The ones mentioned in 1. Mainly because of discounts
