rahul_15
My 4 year old PS3(80Gb) shuts down after playing for some time--blinking red light.I had taken it to Sony service who asked me to submit it with all accessories as they do not repair but only replace ps3s but am not sure what kind of discount they will provide as its 4 years old now.. I had also contacted Intencity & games4u for any exchange schemes but did not get any reply. Another option for me can be of selling of all my ps3 games (around 30) & getting a PS4 So am bit confused about what to do next. i wanted to know what are the best options available for exchange or is it better to go for a PS4?Does anybody know the exact discount which Sony people give for older Indian ps3 models? playstationdude
You will get 50% off on the new ps3 in exchange. But to be honest at this point of time I would say go for a ps4. Perhaps sony would be willing to give you some discount on the ps4 in exchange. No harm in asking
rahul_15
I have heard that it decreases with the age of the ps3 ...mine is 4 years old..so will I still get 50% off or lesser? Sony does not specify anything about this on their website..nor could the service center people tell me clearly
playstationdude
No I think upto 3 years you need to pay 30% of the new mrp and beyond that its 50%
mkarthik
When I had approached a Sony centre for the same, they said they won't offer discounts on a new PS4 in place of a PS3. My PS3's hard disk had conked off, and they were charging me nearly 7k to replace that. Feel they should have some better support that way I did get a PS4 separately, though, later on.
