In 1999 we were gifted the fourth installment in the Tomb Raider series, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. The game was a bestseller for months and received some decent reviews. While the game is nearly 18 years old, it's far from forgotten.

Fans have decided to resurrect the game with sharper textures, new effects, higher-quality objects, and more. The project is currently titled 'Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revelation HD,' and was revealed by modders on the Tomb Raider forums, where they confirmed that new gameplay features would also be added to the game.

The game is still early in development and has no release date, but the project does have an official site where you can track the progress. You can get a taste of the remaster with a couple of images.

TR4 lol . Putting number is a mistake. SE will definitely shut it down or will take huge cut in profit if it's successful :P

Dude, yeh log free mein release karte hai....these people do out of fan service atleast with many games i have seen. There is a option to donate but no one is forced.....

Problem is I am okay with they shut it down...because i know they will but they wait till whole project is complete and then send legal notice....its like killing person slowly and mercilessly.

It's the fault of the modders. They are infringing on IP rights , I wouldn't blame SE for shutting them down after the completion of their project. Most probably gaming companies attack on the verge of release to make an example out of the modders so that no one tries that in future. Unfortunately, humans never learn from past mistakes.

Do you guys know about Sonic Mania and Sonic CD? These are fan made games. BUT the guy who made them showed it to SEGA and they gave him permission.

Right now SONIC CD is an authentic sonic experience on Mobile.

One of my friend is working on an HD remake of an old game. and he is planning to create a DEMO 1st and then will show it to the company. If company would agree, then he can continue on it.

(I am sorry, as I cannot mention his name and the name of the game he is working upon. I do not want to spoil his 'half-baked cake').

This. When people try to outsmart the system naturally it will come back to bite them. Once the IP of a company is infringed, it can be repeatedly done in future while citing the first infringement as a case study.

Lol Sega badly need a good Sonic game. Fan made or not, they will never cancel a well made Sonic game.

Lol BS.... Some companies are cool about Fan projects and support it. Companies like Nintendo sdhut down sh*t anytime they see it.

But Sega supported them and gave them a official poroject.

Even Capcom supported Fan Game Street Fighter Vs Megaman and released it for free.

Valve also released fan project Black Mesa and Fan mods like Counter Strike. Fan game is like fan art , its released for free as tribute.

I dont think you understood his post.

He is saying how companies like Sega supported the fan project instead of just shutting down talented fans like that. Even Valve encourages users to make mods and later officially supports it if its good.

Yes but they took prior approval from Sega. In most of the cases where Nintendo has shut down projects, modders did not bother seeking approval. You can't infringe a company's IP and expect it not to react. Once infringed, it will open up the path for future infringement. In case of Sega, since they officailly approved it, that case canno't be cited in futurr by other infringers.

Half of the people in thread knows nothing about modding or Tomb Raider in general. Astounding. Rha3jZ9.gif

It's just a texture mod. Nothing else will be changed. The gameplay will be same old one. You don't need permission for that as long you own a copy of the game.

It clearly says new object and gameplay features will be added in the game.
