Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said Mario Kart 8 will include the “best collection of modes yet” for online play, and that players will be able to interact with one another worldwide via Miiverse. Ichigo Uzumaki Posted July 4, 2013 Report Share Posted July 4, 2013 Mario Kart 8 dev cites F-Zero as influence, is hopeful for series’ return Mario Kart 8 developers Hideki Konno and Kosuke Yabuki have shed light on how the game was influenced by F-Zero in a new interview, and have stressed that they’d like to see the anti-grav racing series return one day. Speaking to French site Gamekult, Yabuki cited F-Zero and Super Mario Galaxy as sources for Mario Kart 8′s new anti-grav mechanics. He also explained why we haven’t see a new F-Zero announced for Wii U yet, “It has always been a Mario Kart per console, so we wanted to get a new one to have more people interested by our new system. But I also hope that there will be an F-Zero.” Konno added that he game has been in development for little over a year, and that the team is looking at remote play on the Wii U GamePad, but had nothing further to share at the time. NitroNeo Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Share Posted July 4, 2013 I loved Mario Kart 7 for it's innovation & since it & pokemon i am interested in 3ds, but right now if kart racing is concerned on this gen, Sonic ASRT has won it for me, if not for me being a hardcore bandicoot about CTR i would say SASRT is the best karting game ever madeHope this F-Zero stuff doesn't turn out gimmicky, still i am excited, but i was hoping for it being on 3DS as well, nintendo need to stop making only one mario kart game on their hardware Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There was an option to find players locally or global, I chose local and it put me in a lobby with all the players from US. I'll try the global option tomorrow to see if its same or not.
