How often do we have to change Thermal Paste in India? Also new laptop suggestions?

If the question sounds weird about me asking about India I'm just wondering if the dust and heat that we have here makes a difference.

From personal experience I've been having my laptop serviced every 4-6 months from Dell (when in warranty) and everytime he comes in he asks/does two things. First it's always the fail "Sir format karna padega" after which I abuse him a few times and tell him to actually fix the damn thing. Then he takes apart the laptop, cleans it and re-applies thermal paste to it. Every time this is done the laptop starts functioning smoothly, faster, less heating etc. I did the take apart, cleaning and thermal repaste myself the last time in Jan so about 6 months ago.And once again it started working smooth as hell again, I could start playing games again without any issues, which would otherwise slow the computer and heat it the hell up.

Now I have the same reheating, computer freezing, high temps issues again.

I'm 99% sure cleaning the laptop and repasting would do it since it has worked every time in the past, but everywhere I read outside they say repasting is supposed to be done once even every 10 years!?

I asked a local computer mechanic which is a little better than the 'computerwala' and even he said it can't be the thermal repasting which is the issue and solution rather something else. I would like to give it in but I'm as always afraid of some genuine parts being replaced by some sh*t ones by the cartoons in India.

Anyways thoughts on what my issue could be? Do we really need to apply thermal paste so frequently in India?

What powerhouse beast of a laptop can I be going for next in India?

If I get some amazing one from the US am I screwed in terms of after sales warranty, or are their places we can go to in India to reliably get our random computers fixed?

Your computer mechanic is right, you need to figure out what is wrong with your system by examining each part. The raising temps need to be monitored by a software. This will explain the reduced speed of your system when can be caused either by increasing temps due to a faulty cooler (this can be solved by replacing fan or by cleaning the fan every 2-4months and dedusting or if the copper heatsink has been damaged) or demanding softwares or problematic softwares.

The environmental conditions vary region to region, for eg. northern india has dust issues while coastal have moisture problems. I never had to format my lappy, started dedusting it every 2-4months after 1st year of usage, thermal paste was changed only twice in 4yrs.

Laptops usually have international warranty for 1st year and after that you can get extended warranty nationally. However, there might be an issue of replacing parts if the particular service center is not a good one.

Thermal paste is to be applied every time you dismantle your device and take the two surfaces which are in contact with the paste pulled apart. Not a fixed time period.

If you have to maintain your device and want a cycle, I would suggest once a year or twice a year depending on the local weather conditions and what kind of a thermal paste you run.

ASUS, MSi and DELL Alienware would be your best bets but getting them locally is recommended rather than importing them from abroad as the warranty terms apart from ASUS (offers two years international) are limited to the national level.

^ Install NZXT CAM and cross-verify.

Also, is that SYSTIN under motherboard? If yes, highly likely it is a bugged out sensor.

Just to know, do you run your PC in an A/C environment?
