MarketTantrik
You can connect your X360 through the VGA interface. But your PS3 and PS2 will be left out in the cold.

ayush12ice
ok sam i did not know that.. if u dont have component connectors in ur monitor u can still connect it using an HDMI-DVI adaptor.. if u wanna chk out some HDMI-DVI adaptor go to this link http://www.cobaltcable.com/hdmi-dvi-adapter.htm when u connect ur PS3 using this method, u wont get sound if ur monitor does not have speakers. so then u wud have to connect it using the optical out. vinitwins
1080i is good enough for a 22" monitor......like i said, i'm not a strickler for graphics....and i'm in no mood to pay over 10k more just for 1080p peace i think most 22-inchers have a native resolution of 1680x1050 (16:10) vs 1920×1080 (16:9) found on 1080p HDTVs basically you would need to choose a resolution that doesnt distort your native aspect ratio (or only does so marginally, viz any resolution thats close to 1.6 like 1280x768) V
MarketTantrik
Yup V, you're right. There is a growing recognition now that monitor makers and movie makers should reach a consensus on resolutions and aspect ratios. People dont want to shell out a bomb for hi-res PC monitors and still have black bands around their movies.

vinitwins
Hey guys, I am getting a new pc too and need help choosing 1. My budget is 40k. Any help would be great. basic config should be: CPU - core 2 duo E6600 (dual core is good enough) Mobo - the tricky part, intel has just released a new range of chipsets viz. P31/P35 (plus you could stick with the tried and tested - nForce 650i OR P965/P975X) RAM - 2GB minimum HDD/Optical - check recommendations in this thread Case/PSU - you might have to compromise a wee bit here. a generic ATX case + 450W SMPS (kobian/mercury is a good value brand) should suffice Audio - on-board Display - 17' Samsung Graphics - check how much money you have left over and then opt for the best you can afford (aim for a 8600GT at the very least) V
Infinity091
Shouldn't i go for a quad core since i'm not going to a new PC anytime soon. P.S Screw the 40K budget. No fixed budget as long as its resonable.

vinitwins
and with a 17" monitor, the max resolution (with decent refresh) would be 10x7 (viz 1024x768), which should be handled EASILY by this rig! V
