What does washed out graphics have to do with the HDMI input being on a monitor, as opposed to on a TV?

Dont know the technical details. Supposedly TVs handle limited RGB better compared to LED monitors. Extended HDMI is must for monitors to prevent washed out colors.

Awhile back Metro: Last Light publisher THQ said it would not develop the first-person shooter for Wii U, despite it appearing on Nintendo's platform during a demo reel. At the time, THQ said it was because the publisher wanted to "focus on what we knew," i.e. PS3, 360 and PC.

Many surmised that this was a money saving tactic for the financially burdened publisher, and while that may have something to do with it, developer 4A Games recently noted that the Wii U abortion was due to a technical limitation of the hardware.

“[The] Wii U has a horrible, slow CPU,” said chief technical officer Oles Shishkovtsov in an interview with NowGamer.

Here, this will wake you up:

http://www.videogamer.com/wiiu/trine_2/news/wii_u_graphics_would_need_to_be_scaled_back_on_xbox_360_and_ps3.html

The Wii U is capable of displaying Trine 2 expansion Goblin Menace with the graphics as intended, something developer Frozenbyte believes isn't possible on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Speaking of Goblin Menace, included as part of Trine 2: Director's Cut on Wii U, sales and marketing manager Mikael Haveri told NintendoLife: "Basically that does require... well, not huge amounts more graphics processing power, but still considerable. If we would publish that on the other consoles, then I believe that there would be some small downscaling of what it is right now."

Wii U becomes profitable with just 1 game purchase.

Q: This will be the first Nintendo game machine that the company's going to be selling at a loss at launch. How does that change the business model for Nintendo?

A: The business model doesn't change dramatically, in that as soon as we get the consumer to buy one piece of software, then that entire transaction becomes profit positive.

Well its a new console so I doubt they are people who are buying it without a game. So yeah, they arent losing money on it from Day 0. I am guessing the loss they were making on each console wasnt significant to begin with.

The more interesting part is that if Nintendo after spending a significant chunk of money on the controller (wasnt it almost 1/3 of the price or even more) can still be almost profitable at 299 and take a half step into next gen then MS/Sony should be able to get a significantly powerful console at 399. Bodes well.

WTF. Firstly the right stick is above the buttons? And secondly, the top of the stick isnt Concave? Why?

This literally could have been perfect. Nintendo has the best Dpad. The 360 one has the best layout and sticks. Instead of copying the general shape, why not just merge them?
