Please keep it underground and more tuning companies than exotics. I'd rather see names like hks, rocket bunny, toms rather than Ferrari.

Also "all video captured is from in game" , really? Lol

"With more than 20 years of history in its rear view mirror, we’re bringing Need for Speed back with a reboot that delivers on what Need for Speed stands for — rich customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that drives your Need for Speed experience."

Does any NFS game have a mode where you can race while not being chased by cops? Just asking because the last NFS i played was in 2007,and me memory of it is very poor

What we do now know are high-level points about the new Need for Speed game. First, the game (which is inspired by the Underground series but doesn't have a name yet) will be an open-world, day-to-night racer featuring "deep customization," car culture by way of a partnership with EA's own Speedhunters, and even an "immersive narrative" that Ghost says will pull players through the game.

The latest instalment in EA's long-running racing series is being pitched as a "full reboot", hence the stripped back title. EA promises Need for Speed will draw on what it considers the core pillars of the series: "deep customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game."

Reboot.

The next Need for Speed game is a reboot due out on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One autumn 2015.

EA has decided to eschew the Underground and Most Wanted sub-brands in favour of a game Swedish developer Ghost Games says gets to the roots of the long-running racing series.

The focus with this Need for Speed, which has benefited from the developer taking a year off from having to release a new game in 2014, is car customisation, authentic urban car culture and telling a story.

There's also mention of "a nocturnal open world", which executive producer Marcus Nilsson told Eurogamer in an interview, below, means Need for Speed is set from dusk to dawn.

Meanwhile, with this year's Need for Speed the series leaves behind the last generation of consoles: the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This, Nilsson said, gives the developers more "focus".

Need for Speed's teaser trailer is below. More will be revealed at E3 during EA's press conference on 15th June.

Theres just sooo much good in that trailer.

http://www.carthrottle.com/post/7-things-we-learned-from-the-new-need-for-speed-trailer/

1. Cars for all tastes
screen-shot-2015-05-20-at-17.5-555dcf8cd

So far we’ve spotted a Ford Mustang, Porsche 911, Scion FR-S, Skyline KPGC10 GT-R and Nissan 180SX. So that’s muscle, euro, JDM and retro fans all catered for, so it’s clear NFS will have cars that’ll appeal to everyone.

2. Real tuners?
screen-shot-2015-05-20-at-17.5-555dd391b

Anyone who knows anything about Porsche will instantly recognise the widebody car from tuners RWB (Rauh-Welt Begriff), while the FR-S seen later in the video also appears to be wearing a Liberty Walk kit - check out that rear spoiler and the strakes on the bumper, while the front of the car in the video thumbnail says ‘Rocket Bunny’. It’ll be interesting to see what other companies EA is secretly working with.

3. It's set in Los Angeles
screen-shot-2015-05-20-at-17.4-555dc16fe

The trailer doesn’t make clear whether the game will take place in a faithful recreation of Los Angeles, or will be simply inspired by it, but the skyline isdefinitely LA.

4. It takes place at night
screen-shot-2015-05-20-at-17.4-555dc18e2

The game will take place under the cover of darkness, which is apt given that car-based anti-social behaviour tends to happen in the early hours. Probably. Not that we’d know or anything…

Night-time also allows the gorgeous graphics to shine, with the city lights reflecting off the cars and the road, adding to the cool atmosphere and sense that you’re partaking in highly illegal activity. From a more practical point of view, traffic will be lighter, so your epic race won’t suddenly pile into LA’s famous gridlock.

5. Wet and dry?
screen-shot-2015-05-20-at-17.5-555dd0ca4

The trailer takes place shortly after rainfall. It’s unclear from the footage whether NFS LA ever gets an actual shower, or if the rain-soaked roads are just permanently there to offer up sexy reflections. We’d love to see the occasional downpour throwing a spanner in the works of a hectic street race.

6. Cops on your tail
screen-shot-2015-05-20-at-17.4-555dcb1d1

It wouldn’t be Need For Speed without cops, and sure enough you’ll be facing off against LA’s finest in what appear to be genuine Ford Crown Victoria cop cars.

7. Civilians will drive real cars
screen-shot-2015-05-21-at-10.5-555dd2c8e

This is a small detail, but cool nonetheless. It looks like the civilian cars that’ll be acting as moving obstacles courses during races might actually be modelled on real cars. That’s definitely a BMW 1-Series, and a few Ford F150 pickup trucks crawl past at various points during the trailer. A minor touch, but a nice extra level of authenticity.
