URGENT: Alienware 14 config and warranty issues

Recommended Posts

I'm getting an Alienware 14 from the States

This is the configuration I'm opting for :

i7 4700MQ @ 2.4 GHz

8 gigs DDR3

14 inches FHD IPS display

750 gigs HDD @ 7200rpm

For the GPU, I'm confused between the 1 gig GT 750M GDDR5 and the 2 gigs GTX 765M GDDR5

The 765M costs $150 more. I know it's way better than the 750M, but can the 750M run newer games like BF4, Ghosts and GTA V on Medium or High? Because I want to keep the price below $1350.

I'm not worried about the shipping, as a relative will bring it here for me.

And about the warranty,

I'm getting a 1 year basic warranty. Will it be international or US only?

And if the latter, then how do i transfer it to India?

I need a quick reply, as I have to place the order tomorrow.

Thanks

I need the Alienware 14. I know I can get better deals if I go for msi or the y510 or even rog, but I need the 14.

So please, help me out with the GPU issue.

if your gonna use it for gaming, why go with a laptop at all??

On 750M, you'll be able to play Battlefield on med settings.

Ghost will run easily on high settings.

Don't know about GTA V, as it's not announced for PC yet.

If you're fine with med-high settings (if not max), then go for it.

Regarding warranty, you need to get complete care. Contact Dell.

A lil late here.. hope it still helps.

I bought my m14x R1 back in 2011 in US and It came with 1 yr international warranty. Towards the end, I extended it for 2 more yrs and it paid off well cause I had to replace my mobo couple of months back while I was in Germany.

Only thing is you need to keep your country of residence up to date in your dell account when you contact them for warranty related queries/repairs.

Cheers,
