piper
Playstation US boss Jack Tretton feels that it’s extremely difficult to improve upon what the Playstation 3 offers and that a successor to the console is a very long way off from where they stand as of now. During an interview with Forbes, Tretton made it clear that the company is committed to the PS3 and PS Vita for the time being and has faith that their current tech is still among the best on offer. He also said that the PS3′s competitors are still trying to add features to their systems which are already present on the PS3. “PlayStation 3 is really just hitting its stride,” he insisted. “And technologically, I don’t think it’s possible to provide any advancement beyond what we have.” “What we’ve seen from the competition is trying to add features that already exist in PlayStation 3,” he said. Tretton was also pretty outspoken about Nintendo’s latest console announcement, stating that he didn’t find anything that the console offered which would make them worried about the PS3′s future prospects. “I think there’s ground to be carved out for everybody. But I didn’t see anything about Nintendo’s announcement that said ‘Oh, we’d better get working on rolling out a new PlayStation here pretty soon.’ “Our attitude is kind of ‘welcome to the party.’ If you’re looking at being a multimedia entertainment device, if you’re looking at high def gaming, that was 2006 for us.” Sources : http://www.gamersmint.com/sony-ps4-unlikely-nintendos-new-console-offers-nothing-to-make-us-worried http://www.kotaku.com.au/2011/06/jack-tretton-playstation-3-is-just-hitting-its-stride/ http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-06-17-sony-no-ps4-for-quite-some-time

Maximus
PS3 still has at least 3 years according to me. They can make changes like Bluetooth upgrade or enable playing .mkv files on it, the likes.
Thanos
WTF?! Nintendos tablet doesnt stand a chance against the PS3 Graphics-wise. if you’re looking at high def gaming, that was 2006 for us[/Quote] I hope Sony doesnt bring out PS4 until 2016. By then they wouldve milked the PS3 for all its worth.. Those who will QQ about the graphics on the consoles compared to graphics on the PC, look what Crysis 2 did.. And look at what BF3 will do.
