How does your spouse feel about your gaming time? I am into bussiness of gaming industry so she copes with it. She is happy with it .She mostly enjoying playing tennis only and on top of that she enjoys more on winning tennis (virtua tennis match) against any walkin customer of mine. i generally game around 10 hours daily ,which leads me to giving less time to her and also i am working mostly 360 days a years we hardly get a time for ourself which annoyed her mostly. 2. Does she think those gaming figurines would come in handy for the kids to play with? she herself likes a lot of figurines but she dont understand which character is from which game .just she likes mostly final fanstasy character a lot and she is keeping all the characters very safely so our children can play in future 3.v3. And the money spent on this passion, how does she feel about it? for my personal gaming its hardly more then 5k-10 k per month for which she is not happy as she feels the game will end in just 7-10 hours.she keeps complaining about remotes get broken up. she keeps saying that why you have to buy a new game when no one plays .over here no one means she and i both. 4. Do you encourage your wife to play some videogames with you? i have tried lot of time but she is busy with her work .she really dont feel playing games other then tennis. 5. Tyler
I was thinking of creating a thread on similar lines Anyway, here goes... IVG ID : Tyler Gaming stuff I own : PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PSP Married since : December 2010 1. How does your spouse feel about your gaming time? A. She's ok with it as long as I restrict it to a couple of hours each day. 2. Does she think those gaming figurines would come in handy for the kids to play with? A. Not really, she thinks most of them are scary and treats my Lightning (FFXIII) figure as if she's my second wife. 3. And the money spent on this passion, how does she feel about it? A. As long as I buy two games a month she's fine with it (she knows the prices btw) BUT she doesn't know anything about Steam 4. Do you encourage your wife to play some videogames with you? A. Yes. I got her playing GTA, Silent Hill, PvZ... 5. Would you be happy, surprised, thrilled or scared if your wife also became a member of IVG? A. A little bit of everything I guess. 6. Do you encourage your wife or share her passions say may be, Saas-Bahu serial, Or Romantic YRF movie Or Cricket, Or Bhartnatyam Dance Show etc..? A. Yeah I do catch a Bollywood movie sometimes with her or pass rude comments on TV serials, reality/dance shows etc which she loves to watch. But overall I try to be involved in her interests as well (it really helps with my cause). 7. How many hours in a week you devote to your Gaming? A. 1-2 hours per day, 3-4 on weekends. 8. What are three things you wish your wife would understand about you and your connection with Gaming? A. Well I'm quite happy that my wife understands how important gaming is to me but there are a few things - 1. It's not easy to concentrate on a conversation when you're getting your a*s handed to you by a boss. 2. It's not always easy to "just quit and come over here" especially when you're this close to leveling up 3. Playing with low volume is not an option every time (headphones hurt my head if I use them for a long time) 4. Girls in games are not real and should not arouse feeling of jealousy. Ne0
It's not always easy to "just quit and come over here" especially when you're this close to leveling up 3. Playing with low volume is not an option every time (headphones hurt my head if I use them for a long time) This. Nail on the friggin' head. Atleast on xbox you had the guide button to pause the game in an instant. In most PC games, especially when watching cut scenes, its just impossible to quit the game. Especially when you have to save after the cut scene. And i love watching cut scene after a heavy battle. *Sigh*

megzworld
@cyclops: I move that your wife join ivg - she sounds like a woman with a good head on her shoulders! Which some other women on IVg lack.. we need balance.. No but really.. we can do with more women on IVG.. then it will be so much fun to hear the other side of the story. @Cool Rocker: Buddy, your wife sounds really cute. I also love Tennis, never played one on modern consoles though.. used to play it on my Video Game (Sega) as a kid.. Why is she a guest member.. time she becomes a member like us. @ Tyler: I loved reading those three things you wish your wife would understand. But really, it is kind of uncomfortable for a girl to see her guy like/ogle at a virtual girl in the video game.. considering the angles they show and the way those girl characters talk.. Eww.. I find them funny, irritating and even vulgar some times.. It's not that girls get jealous of a gaming character, it just doesn't feel right.. I can relate with your wife here totally. megzworld
Ok one question to the Unmarried ones: 1. What do you do when you are playing a game, and your girlfriend calls. a) The game can be paused and re-started from the same point You are in a mid of a tournament say online. piper
THIS! I feel ya, bro. And the tone she uses is one of "if you have time for me too, then leave that silly game and talk to me". And when I go over, "Oh, it wasn't urgent, I called just like that". Not cool. Not after all those Koffee with... episodes I sat through
outsider
On that point, I disagree megz. I don't really see the difference between ogling a video game character and ogling a fictional character in a movie, or to take it one step further along - watching porn. Whatever. It's make believe. My two cents.
