April 23, 2007 - Medal of Honor: Airborne, the next entry in the long-running WWII shooter series, takes players to the skies, straps a parachute to their backs, and drops them into enemy territory. Today EA announced when we'll be taking the plunge: August 28, 2007.

Airborne is a bit of a departure from most WWII shooters, with players jumping into each operation. Luckily, we've got about four months to take those sky diving lessons.

6/10

yes thats what medal of honor:airborne got for the 360(expect even lower for the PS3 version :) )

The Norwegian version of the scandinavian gaming magazine Gamereactor has reviewed Medal of Honor: Airborne, and gives it 6 out of 10.

The negative feedback was the bad A.I. and that the game is equal to the other Medal of Honor games.

The positive feedback was that the game has an open gameplay, that the soldier develope skills during the game and that you can land wherever you want.

The game scores 6/10 on graphics, 7/10 on sounds, 6/10 on gameplay and 5/10 on durability.

:P good!!!!! one less thing to worry about!!!!! i wonder why Ubisoft or other companies don't buy off EA :( wat a bunch of losers...

Even if you are new to the gaming scene, it pays to keep up with occurences in the gaming industry through regular background reading. Then you can avoid absurd comments like these and can contribute to the forums in a positive manner. Also EA is the biggest game developer and publisher in the world by market value and capitalisation. Ubisoft and Activision are 2 & 3 (not necessarily in that order) but are less than half as valuable as EA. Also I am specifically disregarding M$ because the other companies here are pure play electronic gaming companies.

Yeah, Ubisoft buying EA. ROTFL! Actually, EA controls about 25% of Ubisoft! :P

You are absolutely right.

@ markettantrik:

I'm not sure if you're aware that EA is ranked as one of the poorest performing companies in the gaming industry...and just last year their annual revenue was way below what they expected...so this shows that year after year they're releasing crappy games (including MOHAA - Airborne) with just miner tweaks and in my opinion will not solve anything...except make things worse for them..so pls my friend reserve your statement about me being new to the gaming scene coz i've been a gamer for more than 20 yrs :)

no hard feelings mate.

peace out

@ Skate :

A gamer for over 20 years? Thats terrific. Nice to see that you still have the juices flowing.

The first line of my comment wasn't specifically meant for you. It was for anybody who read the post. But teh remainder was definitely applicable to you. My point becomes even more relevant since I now know that you have over 2 decades of gaming under your belt. You should be providing revelatory insights into the gaming culture and gaming industry. Not making comments such as the one you made.

And even after the disappointing and underwhelming financial performance that EA displayed last FY, it still is the 800 pound gorilla of the industry. So there is very little chance of Ubisoft or any other pure play gaming company buying EA. The only way I can see a change of control happening is if Ubisoft reverse merges with EA in a stock swap deal, similar to what happened between Pixar and Disney, making Steve Jobs one of the larget shareholders of Disney.

@ MT:

Good point :) As long as EA has a wide fan base they could survive as long as they want. I remember playing the 1st MOHAA on pc and was totally amazed by the story and gameplay but after that it was a downward spiral for that series..same applies for all their different franchises except for a very few...

I hope this year they redeem themselves with Crysis, Skate and Army of Two :)
