Developer: Trickstar Games
Publisher: Codemasters
Genre: Sports
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3
Release: Summer 2010

Codemasters today announced International Cricket 2010, their follow up to last year’s Ashes Cricket 2009. The new game will arrive this summer on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with an intriguing new ‘Power Stick’ control feature.

International Cricket 2010 is developed by Trickstar Games, a new studio comprised of many of the key members of Transmission Games, the studio behind Ashes Cricket 2009. The game will feature the new Action Cam, which aims to supplement traditional broadcast views by letting “players feel the satisfaction of smashing home 90mph+ deliveries” and experience the thrill of thundering down the track to bowl”. Sounds like a first-person camera perspective for instant replays.

The more interesting new feature, and one that directly impacts gameplay, is the ‘Power Stick’, which gives “batsmen 360-degree analogue power and direction control”. The new mechanic hopes to enable wider shot selection, “from pushing quick singles to gaps in the field to risky shots and everything in between”.

England and Australia will still be the only licensed teams, but an edit mode is also promised, where players can edit player names, appearances, teams and attributes. Let’s hope it isn’t as shallow as it was in Ashes. There will be 16 nations to choose from and 21 stadia to play in, including Lord’s.

Brian Lara Cricket '96 Part 2 on the Sega Genesis is still the gold standard for me. Followed by Cricket '97.

Natal/Move support? I think it would be pretty cool if they do.

Doubt it considering they've only started development last year and that it looks like Ashes 09. A patch later maybe.

Love the game... have fiddled around with downclocking the proccy speed just to make things a little more difficult while batting.
Any other things i could do to make batting more difficult?? Been playin it since april 08.. so even test mode is kinda a walk in the park now for me :P

guys this is most probably the patch of ashes 09 that never came out becoz of transmission games went down
codemasters are really giving us a patched version for full price damn them
also trickstar are the same group of ppl who represented transmission

anyways it is still good that we will be getting another cricket game
hope they do something about lag and online quitting though

i think being a loyal ashes fan( i almost play ashes everyday till date with all the top players around) i am waiting for the game already

Two awesome game announcements one after the other. First IC2010 and then LoTR : War In The North! Gonna play both like crazy :fear:

This game is actually releasing in the Summer (pretty soon), hopefully the online is improved with less exploits/glitches.

Guess I'll have to stick to playing cricket IRL, you know, with real friends and stuff

All it takes is a save update to get proper names back.

Move/Natal/Wii etc are garbage gimmicks for very casual gamers. I suggest anyone wanting to play cricket games with freakin' Natal/Movie go outside and play with a real bat and ball, its much more thrilling and fun. Real gaming will always stay with controllers and keyboard/mouse. But I agree about 2011 WC game though. With proper ads/marketing, an EA fully licensed multiplayer cricket game would sell A lot in India.

Codemasters has finally released a new trailer and gameplay video for their upcoming cricket title International Cricket 2010. The trailer is showing the next generation graphics and realism of cricket.

Produced by Codemasters and developed by Trickstar Games, International Cricket 2010 steps up to the crease with a range of innovations and improvements including a new player and AI confidence system. In International Cricket 2010 as in real life, confidence is key to success. In the test format of the game, gamers must play themselves in as batsmen and build momentum as bowlers, improving their ability to play advanced shots and take wickets. In shorter formats of the game, confidence can be gained and lost much more quickly as players look to take advantage of the pressurised conditions.
