Since the Sakura Wars franchise first started in 1995, it has sold over 3.5 million units worldwide. This success isn't limited to just video games; Sakura Wars has found popularity as a staged production, anime series', and printed publications. In this game, the setting moves from Japan to New York, bringing with it a whole new cast of characters. The series conventions remain fresh and intact along with some new features to enhance game play. It's a completely unique, but related, title in the Sakura Wars franchise!

The main character is Shinjiro Taiga, a young Navy Lieutenant and nephew of the hero of the previous 4 games. The story begins as Shinjiro arrives in 1928 New York.

Sakura Wars V: So Long, My Love welcomes some new features to the game play. In addition to ground-based battles (ARMS: Active & Real-time Machine System), you can engage in air combat. While in air combat mode, the STARs transform from their robotic form to an air fighter form to further enhance the experience of fighting in the skies.

During the Adventure portions of the game, characters have made the transition into 3D and the world map has been extended in order to allow you to freely walk around New York City. New features have been added to the long-standing LIPS (Live & Interactive Picture System), and new gameplay variations utilizing LIPS further improve the game play.

^^noctis bro, this is not releasing in europe..i mean pal region..coz otherwise it would not come to India..and after VC i am in love with srpg/jrpg. I dont wanna miss this...

That goes for most of the jrpgs/srpgs, so I have modded my PS2 for that. Also don't want to settle for the normal edition and doubt if the premium one will ever make it to EU.

Also NIS is releasing the premium edition of the game in two dual layer dvds, one with English voice acting and the other to include Japaneese VA (since the game is big). Thats what you call dedication to the fans, wish the idiots at SE would learn something from them. :wallbash:

^^ though its always nice to have as many language as possible but why do you care abt japanese voice....do you understand japanese?? .

Yeah somewhat, but that is besides the point. Most games gets a low budget cast for the English dubbing (like this one) while the Japanese version is usually done by professional Anime and film artists. Even otherwise games like these doesn't retain its atmosphere when dubbed to English.

And for this particular game you can understand what I mean by just listening to the trailer.

^ Because it's better, and most importantly, those are the original voices.

yes. i agree original is always better..no doubt...but you do understand japanese a lot but for others knowing a little that aint enough to understand the game ...also not to forget Usa gamers would hardly know japanese. :P ...so in the end we have to be happy with english version.

You are missing the point, we are talking about Japaneese VA with English subtitles. So western audiences will have no problem understanding. I can't completely understand it without subs either.

Um.. the text will still be in English. As will the subtitles. It's only the voices that will be in Japanese.
