Completed Arcade mode (its just 5 matches), and the first season (out of 4) of the career. It's fun, but not as good as TS4. Gameplay seems more scripted than usual. Haven't tried with Move yet.

Got my hands on this game yesterday ... Gameplay has not changed drastically, but there is a slight improvement ...
First 3 games using move was not so interesting since i felt it difficult to hit the ball, then it got very much interesting and i played all my tennis shots
I actually liked the move implementation in this game, but it is easy to win even in the very hard mode using Move

So, I take that vt still remains the game to buy if you want 4 player offline gameplay? This is more fun than top spin right in that regard?

I can't say that this game is better than Top Spin 4, because i loved TS4 for its rigid movement of players and the higher difficulty level in the gameplay. This game is a bit arcadish and pretty easy with the controls and the players move freely. the difference it makes with TS4 is that the move implementation is way better in VT4 than TS4. You can differentiate between a top spin shot, flat shot and a slice with your move, just like the Table Tennis game in Sports Champions but i didn't like the move implementation in TS4

I think first of all u hv to win all matches without dropping a game or going to deuce & also getting a medal in most of the medal categories.
Then king will appear & finally u hv to defeat him to unlock him.

Okay, a bump for an old thread but here's the thing. After a long time I've found someone who's a virtua tennis guy. So I wanted to see if this game could support a controller and kb/m for offline gameplay at the same time. 

 

At the same time is important coz he's a kb/m guy and I'm used to playing with the controller. It does work like that but there's one glitch. I can't use the d-pad on my controller. I can only play using the analog. this is really weird for me and throws my timing totally off and I can't even place properly. Is this normal behaviour for the game? I mean, not being able to use the d-pad? 

 

I tried motion joy and the PS3 controller too but the game did not detect the controller. 

 

Also, while I'm at it, this is probably the worst Virtua Tennis game about. VT 09 is much, much better for proper arcade fun.

i have played a lot of vt4 offline multiplayer on pc, controller and k/b at the same time, i ve used the logitech precision controller and the d-pad works fine.I had the same ps3 controller d-pad prob with fifa 13 on pc, but i got it working via motion joy, suggest you to configure the controller buttons again in motion joy.

Thanks for replying. I did use motionjoy. The controller is detected, all buttons work but the game does not bring it under options when I launch the game. I don't know if it is an asinine bug or what, how can the game not support the d-pad on the 360 controller? And I've reinstalled atleast thrice so if it is a bug it really is a very good one. 

 

Anyway, I bought VT 2009 and that works just fine. Much better game too.
