Battlefield 3 is an upcoming installment in the long-running Battlefield video game franchise developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield 3 will be developed on the Frostbite 2.0 engine.[3] Based upon the slip received with Medal of Honor, it can be inferred by the presence of the M4 that Battlefield 3 will be set in the modern era. It is a direct sequel to battlefield 2 and is expected to be released in second half" of 2011

Battlefield 3 will feature the maximalist combined arms battles that made the series popular across single-player, co-operative and multiplayer modes. It will reintroduce several elements absent from the Bad Company games, including fighter jets, the prone position and 64-player battles on PC (consoles will support 24 players).

A new animation system will allow players to "drag fallen comrades into safety and mount weapons on almost any part of the terrain." The destructible environments of DICE's Frostbite engine will also be in use.

Maps set in Paris, Tehran, Sulaymaniyah and New York have been confirmed.[3] As a whole the game will cover urban streets, metropolitan downtown areas, and open landscapes suited to vehicle combat.

If this plays anything like Badcompany then they'd rather name it BFBC3 instead of BF3.

Bring back the game where I have to think even before reloading cause doing a reload meant losing any shells/ammo present in the current clip/magazine !!
Bring back Wake island, Camp Gibraltar, Battle Commander, emp strikes, orbital strikes and Titan mode (easily the best game mode to ever grace a first person shooter !!) from BF2142.
