Sackboy
NEW SUPER MARIO 3DS Title :- Super Mario 3DS Platform :- Nintendo 3DS Release :- TBA (Proper unveil in E3) Publisher :- Nintendo Devloper :- Nintendo (Same team as Mario galaxy) Genre :- Platformer ][/font]Nintendo President and CEO Saruto Iwata today unveiled Super Mario 3DS for the first time. "Since 1996, when Mario appeared in 3D in Super Mario 64, it's always been hard for players to judge how to jump and hit a block floating in a 3D space," Iwata said. "Miyamoto said to me, 'Finally the day has come when we can solve this.'" Super Mario 3DS is under development by the Super Mario Galaxy team. A tail can been seen on the game's temporary logo, perhaps taking a cue from Super Mario Bros. 3, which may see Mario return with the famed Tanooki suit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ANALYZING 3DS SCREENSHOTS ( BECAUSE NO ONE CAN WAIT TILL E3 ) As you can see in the image above, the falling blocks from Mario 3 are also making a return, though the blue arrow block he's standing on appears to be a new addition. This blue block looks like it will carry Mario upward where he will, undoubtedly, have to do some fancy platforming to make his way to the end of the level. In this next image you can see that small Mario is also making his three-dimensional debut, although it is unclear at this time what conditions created this scenario. It could be some side effect of his hat being stolen, as he is pictured sans hat in this pic. It could be because he took damage, which would mean that this new game might be doing away with the three-hit health system that has been used since Mario Galaxy in favor of the more old school mechanic whereby one hit makes big Mario little, and another one kills him. In any case, it'll be interesting to see how this affects the game's platforming. Will Mario be able to jump as high when he is small? Will there be short platforms that only small Mario can crawl under like in the old side-scrollers? Is he more vulnerable in this form than otherwise? Only time will tell. Other Mario staples that these images seem to confirm are making a return are question blocks, classic brick blocks, goombas, piranha plants, coins, and classic examples of moving, rotating, and falling Mario-style platforms. This image is also very reminiscent of both the original Super Mario Bros. and Mario 64, with green grass, a friendly, blue, cloudy sky, and classic rolling green hills. All of these retro throwbacks lend to the theory that Super Mario 3DS will be an-old school Mario game set in the third-dimensional style of Mario 64, but with the scope of the Galaxy games. In addition to some tricky-looking platforming, a flying goomba, and a Nintendo president standing in front of the screen, the above image also features a gold and white coin at the top that looks a lot like one of the comet coins from Galaxy 2, although with a regular star on it instead of a comet. While there's no telling for sure, this coin might end up being a collectible that is hidden throughout the game's levels in interesting, challenging ways, just like the comet coins in Galaxy 2. Here we also see what is either giant Mario or just a zoomed-in, close-up shot of the plumber. If the former is true, this probably means that the Mega Mushroom, most notably from New Super Mario Bros., will also be making a comeback. This screenshot also gives us a clearer look at Mario himself, whose proportions are nearly identical to those in Galaxy, although the hair sticking out from under his cap seems to, at least at this point in development, be black instead of brown. Aftrunner
This was .. unexpected. I had seen pics and vids of SMG on 3DS and I was assuming they were porting that like SM64 on the DS. Anyway, 2D would have been nicer but there is a Racoon Mario shadow on the games title. HYPE GET!

aRch-0n
You smoking something n**** ? How many disappointments do you see here ? (Apart from the Dr. series ) Yeah, Nintendo's COD is all awesomesauce, TBH Mario felt gr8 on the old gen
Shadoken
LOL... the very idea of comparing Mario to COD .... There are only about 2 Mario games each gen which fall in the main series .... The rest are all spin offs(some form sub series since they are soo good)... heck the most of them arent even fukin platformers....its sports, racing and party games.... Mario has been around for 25 years... if it still sells then that means theres definitely some quality in it....
Choron ka raja
^^ by that logic, guitar hero series has only four games, right! spinoffs or not, there is a release of a Mario game, every quarter. and if it still sells, it is quality game. Well, then, COD's quality is definitely beyond words.
Aftrunner
Lulz at retards who think Mario has no quality. Bigger lulz at comparing it to CoD games. Actually that speaks more about your quality as a gamer than it does about Mario's.
CarbonCore
now confused btw 3DS and NGP again ~! There is no confusion, if you want portable PS3 thats not portable at all, go for NGP. If you want system with its own identity, go for 3DS.
Shadoken
^^ +1 RAPED Nintys handhelds are definitely unique in the games they offer .... Well, then, COD's quality is definitely beyond words. GH was a fad.... they milked it for as long as they could.... arent all COD games and GH games in the same genre?......If you notice all spin offs in Mario games are of different genres(RPG,Racing,Beat em up,Puzzle) and nintendo actually treats it with as much quality as a main series game and makes them unique.... Some of them like mario kart and brawl are so damn good that they form their own sub series....
