MarketTantrik
NiGHTS for the Wii will use real-world weather From Ars Technica http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars...l-world-weather ___________________________________________________________ This is some neat news out of Japan: NiGHTS for the Wii will take advantage of the weather channel of the system in order to make some parts of the game correspond to the actual weather outside your window. If it's raining in real life, it will be raining in the game. Sunny in real life? Sunny in the game. This "A-Life" mode of the game features creatures that respond to the weather and apparently a breeding minigame; it looks like the weather will actually impact play. While this is a clever use of the technology, when it's raining in the real world I'm more likely to want to see some sunshine in a game, and while it's a nice day outside, I'm more likely to actually go outside than play a game to enjoy the nice weather. I wonder if you can go into your system and adjust your zip code so it thinks you're in Chicago. If you live in Tuscon and need rain to get a special creature, why not just say you live in Seattle if it's raining there? Technology brings us new ways to cheat. Good times. _____________________________________________________________
